What chance of signing our loan players?

Personally there are some I would really like to keep more than others. If (a big if) we stay up. Who would you like to keep and what are the chances?

Turner - I would keep him as competition/ back up. Whether he is better than Smith I'm not sure but looks capable enough. Good to have 2 keepers. Must be bored of being a 3rd choice at Everton. Offer around £500k.

Gunter - I would like to see him join. Not sure how he is viewed at Spurs but I imagine they wouldn't let him go permenantly and he would eat up a lot of our budget. Probably let him go back and use Moloney next year.

Mcsheffrey - A genuine Championship quality player. We haven't seen the best of him yet but with a full preseason behind him would be very useful. If Brum go up I think he would be available. I'd offer £2.5million.

Osbourne - Very similar to Moussi. Would like to keep him but other positions are more important. Dosn't seem to feature in Villa's plans. Offer 500k

Anderson - Great potential, can't see him becoming a full Liverpool starter. As much as I like him, I would let him go back and go in for Lee Croft again for free. Maybe Liverpool would loan him again?

Lynch - Very impressive recently. Worth signing. Offer 500k.

Thats £4 million total bids plus Lee Croft's sign on fee. Means we need to find money for a centre back and striker. Thats the sort of investment I feel we need to become a championship side and not worry about relegation again. Maybe sell players like Davies and Chambers for a few 100k.

Osbourne is out of contract in the summer, so I think we will have to pay between 100-500k because of that compensation thing because he is under 24 isn't he?

I don't think we'll get anything more then 100k for Chambers.

He has punched above his weight at Forest ever since he came here.

The only one that will be prepared to play in League 1 is Lynch.

Have faith, Plymouth will go down instead. Their run in is very tough and their form is poor.

Nick.

Once known as Nick.Doyle.nffc on 'ere.
Gunter & McSheffery would be both un realistic of us signing them.
Gunter, he wanted first team football. Even though, Of course I wouldn't mind him here.
McSheffery, just wanted to get some first team football and regain his fitness for this season.

Osbourne, would be a realistic signing, If we offer the right amount...
Lynch, Wouldn't be a bad signing.

Anderson, would love him to stay here. But he signed a contract before he came here, so doesn't look like hes going anywhere. Unless we offer a good amount of cash.

Lynch is our most improved player of late. Hopeful he would sign.

Others are a bit hit and miss. McSheffrey is coming back from a long lay off, but he looks very short on the 4m price tag paid for him.

Gunter looked a bit timid for me yesterday. Billy likes tough fighters - heaped praise on Wes - dont think hed be wanted. Need ugly bruisers at the back - Lynch should be ok!!

Osbourne - hmmm. Might do, but similar to the Moose.

Anderson - still looks lightweight to me and flatters to decieve. Not sure if we would get him or if we'd be prepared to pay silly money for him.

Turner - too early to say. Expect we may go back for Camp if the price is right.

Am I right in saying we can only have 5 loan players in your matchday squad? If so, all 5 featured yesterday. Who would make way if another one came in?

I was told by someone that McSheffrey is guaranteed a start under the terms of his loan, so he wont be dropping out (if true).

Lynch is exactly the type of player that we want at this club:

- Good in the air
- Knows how the hoof the ball
- Can put a good cross in
- Wants to play for the club (every single game he gives 110%)
He would be the best signing of the summer if we get him.

But so can is Breckin! :D

Speaking of that I remember last season how everyone got on IB's back for constantly hoofing the ball upfield.

This season whenever hes played hes been praised for hoofing it away.

Shows how times have changed!

Like I said, we haven't seen the best of him. He is still a good player though. I wouldn't say he's not interested. Just not fully fit yet.

I don't deny the ability is their but i think Cov had the best out of him, I've seen nothing while hes been trentside to make me want him to sign.

Agreed, however hes hardly played this season and stated himself that hes only really here for match fitness (and to try and help out).

Id play Tyson and McCleary over him any day.

Lynch is one of the better paid players at Brighton and it's looking increasingly like they'll go down.

If that's the case, they'll want rid as quickly as possible. £250k will secure his signature, and that's probably more than they'll need to offer.

In that case I'd definitely get him signed. I don't think we'll get a better left back for that price.

problem with the premier league players is the fact the premier teams will sign shit players for 10 million so it over inflates the price of there fringe players and reserves aswell, so a player like osbourne who would of been worth 500k 4 years ago you would be lucky if you got for less than 1.5m these days

I don't see too many of them remaining with us.

Turner is considered as Everton's future number 1 Moyes was unwilling to let him go out on loan in the first place it is alleged that the goalkeeping coach said he needed the expierence and that is how we managed to get him.

Gunter is again I assume one considered for the future. Certainly a talent. However, he is behind Corluka, Chimbonda and Hutton at the moment all very good full backs.

McSheffery I have watched for 3 games out the 4 he has played and in none of them he has overly impressed me. He looked like he lacked match fitness in the Swansea game but I think the relief of a new attacker over shadowed his performance. Match fitness is no longer an excuse though and he isn't doing too much to impress me overly. Moreover, he was sent here to get match fitness only hence the short term loan agreement which is questionable whether we will be able to extend it or not.

Osbourne does what he does well I thought it worked well with him, Moussi and Cohen as a middle 3. Probably the most likely to get a move of the bunch really. But who knows.

Lynch has been outstanding of late. I am really impressed with the improvement he has made I think him and Bennett fighting for left back will be healthy competiton and I would be really interested to see who is better.

Anderson I don't overly rate his pace is a great addition to the squad but in terms of crossing ability and shooting I am not impressed. On the other hand though every time he is injured we seem to struggle.

I'm really surprised by the amount of people who think Anderson has no chance with Liverpool.

I seem to recall he was taken, albeit as a sub, to one, or some, of their Champions League games a couple of years ago, when they were beaten in the final.

I'm not sure you name someone in the Champions League squad if you don't have any plans of them ever making it to the first team.

You have to name a number of home grown players in the 25 man squad.

Hyypia was left out of their squad for the group stages because they had to pick Steven Darby and Jay Spearing to satisfy the home grown quota.

Think Lynch will come regardless. Brighton are in alot of debt if i remeber rightly.
