I'm seriously not worried about missing out on all the centre backs. Morgan and Chambers will be good enough for us to have a solid season.

I think that most likely means we pulled our interest.

I told you many times he woin't set this division on fire and we can do better than him. He's nothing special and a few people on here got a bit carried away because he once tackled a Celtic player. I expect him to do nothing big at Scunthorpe.

I have faith in Billy, he has done very well in the market getting the players we were after for a lot cheaper then expected.

Which should mean we have more money left over then originally expected. Im not bothered about Barker as I dont think he is as good as what we already have and Mills is a much better defender.

He's unproven in the championship and he's getting on a bit yes (not that old though), that's why he's cheap. A lot of players we have been linked with are priced at a premium. Many of them were purchased from outside the championship for next to nothing. Dosn't make them bad players, just unproven at this level. The risk is more but the price is less.

Scotland, Bodde, Mills, Fox, Dann, Stock and Commons are all priced a lot more this summer than they were last summer. With only one or two years in this league. Cohen and Garner were good bargins for us but Carlisle and Yeovil took them far cheaper from West Ham and Blackburn. We should start trying to cut out the middle man. The only player I can think of that we have done it with recently is Mcleary and possibly now Anderson.

Maybe Hone would be a better signing than Mills. I've never seen him so I don't know but he sounds good and 500k dosn't sound too much.

i dont think so, the step up would be too much for him to go straight into the side - coming from league 2 to championship. He'd be bought as promising and one to develop for future years if he came. We need people who can slot straight in and perform

Far point but Mills costs a lot more. This time last year Mills was unproven at this level and slotted straight in. I'm playing devils advocate to a certain extent because I've never seen Hone play but it would be nice for us to pick up a player and have him valued at 2-3million a year later ourselves rather than relying on other teams scouts to find and test these players first.

I know it's easier said than done otherwise everyone would be buying these players and making massive profits but the fact is there are players now in league one and Premiership youth teams that are good enough for this level. If we sign Mills and Fox I'll be delighted but can't help but feel we will have been ripped off.

I knew we should have signed Westwood last summer and now look at his value. If teams like Swansea, Coventry and Doncaster can scout these players, why can't we?
