Your fans did you lot proud last night ! but away support is always better, For some reason our home support always turn up but never make any noise ? really hope you lot win the play off because to be honest i cant see you catchin WBA (hope im wrong ) any way good luck for the run in

Cheers, was a brilliant athmosphere in the away end last night. Sorry to say, but I was shocked how quiet the home fans were. I genuinely didnt hear you lot sing until the first goal went it, and then it was still drowned out by the 2800 forest fans. It was loud for a minute when you scored the second to confirm the win and promotion but again we responded and over shadowed you.

Well done to all the fellow reds for creating a brilliant athmosphere last night, shame we couldnt get something out of the game !

Watching on TV, you could only hear the Forest fans singing until Newcastle scored their first. We sounded amazing even though we were tucked up with the Gods. I felt very proud.

The atmosphere in the chat room was pretty awesome too although I think I spent most of the game talking away to myself. lol

Having said all of that, and woking up to 5 pages of '6 reasons to hate Newcastle thread' the geordies were a very friendly bunch and have an awsome stadium that had 46k people in! Just a shame they were the quietest fans ive seen this season home or away!

O and £3.20 for a pint a Carling in Shearers bar, rip off! I thought it was supposed to be cheap up north!!

Shearer's bar? Hope he is better at managing a bar than he is at managing a club..

the newcastle fans to our right were noisy and there was some good pre-game fun with them. the rest of them were DEATHLY. i was wondering if it was just the fact they were so far away and they couldn't hear us and we couldn't hear them, but then we did billy give us a wave and it was pretty clear what was up.

My particular favourites were

'My garden shed is bigger than this' &

'Your grounds to big for you'

I also like that as soon as the second goal went in, a chorus of Que sara Sara went up from the reds:cheers:

Hi all

Been browsing for a while as we've had a few Forest lads on our forum of late. Good lads and made some good posts, was happy just reading your views on here and nothing really made me feel like signing up (no not even the 6 reasons to hate Newcastle thread) lol

But the info here is just wide of the mark. I watched the game on the box last night, as I live 240 miles away and I have to say the atmosphere sounded pretty even. There were a few times where I could hear your lads, and their was also alot of occasions when all you could hear was us. Maybe I'm just being biased like you lot obviously are, but if anything we made more racket.

The Gallowgate end occasionally sing, but you can't properly hear it up in L7, it is about half a mile away after all! L7 corner is the singing section, and I thought it was common practice to have vocal fans next to the away end? With other parts of the ground remaining silent (ish).

I admit that the atmosphere at SJP isn't great but come on Forever Forest, worst fans you've seen home or away? Utter bollocks my friend, what games have you been to exactly?

I've stood in L7 when fans have said they totally outsung us, but then you can hardly hear them and think the opposite. It echoes so much up there I think it's hard to give an accurate honest assessment when people around you are singing and all. When I've sat lower down it's been about even for most games, depending on stages of the game, scoreline and whether the away end is full or not etc etc.

I've been to 5 homes and 10 aways this season and I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest we're quiet fans :nowink: and away end should always make the most noise anyway! Usually full of the die hards that are up for the banter.

Anyway good luck for the rest of season, can't see you catching WBA but I hope you do. Not a big fan of their lot and would rather see you back in the big time

Even your fans on here said the same. I and everyone around me all said they honestly couldnt hear a song until you scored. At 1/2 time in the concourse the topic of discussion (other than the lads smoking joints in the shithouses!) was the lack of atmosphere from the home section.

How can you say it is bollox if you wernt there? How many games have I been to - nearly all home games and 6 away matches. dont get me wrong, its noisy, when you have 45k people anywhere its noisy, but as for singing and athmosphere is was dreadful! Bearing in mind the cameras and them furry things that collect the noise (thats the tecnical term!) are pitchside and the Forest fans were around 8 miles in the sky you wouldnt get an accurate overview of the athmosphere!

Its funny how the geordie fans who were at the game said we made all the noise and then someone who watched the game at home wearing black and white tinted spectacles said it sounded even! Either way, with 43k more fans than us we shouldnt have been heard at all! It was your biggest game of the season in terms of securing promotion back to the PL and I think the forest fans were expecting a bit more singing from your fans.

BTW everyone I was with said the same at the City Ground about your fans

The microphones being the furry things I presume? Explain why I could hear both sets of fans equally when they're both the same distance away up in the gods?

But of course we're the worst home fans home and away in the league, spot on marra. O and I do actually have friends (sort of I'm a loner obviously) that go to the games, they said nowt to suggest you 'totally outsung us' and we created no atmoshpere. Even the smog monster Beagrie complemented the atmosphere from BOTH SETS OF FANS and he hates us.

Anyway you've spouted more bollocks "Either way, with 43k more fans than us we shouldnt have been heard at all!" Like in my original post, the majority of the time the away end is full of nutters like yourself that are up for the craic, singing and getting beered. You've come all that way you might as well make the most of it and usually sing all game barring the shit fans like Fulham, Wigan, Blackburn. You are a club with pedigree and have a reknowned fanbase, I was hardly expecting you to bring 500 fans and sit and clap all game!

"BTW everyone I was with said the same at the City Ground about your fans"

Our fans are shit because your mates say we are, thanks very much matey lol

I guess we all hear what we want to hear and I was delighted to listen to Forest fans singing despite our numbers and position within the ground and even the result. :)

As for the Newcastle fans being louder after the goal, well, you'd expect it really wouldn't you? lol

It's bound to sound differently from varying corners of the ground. Consider the difference between sitting in the A Block, to the Trent End to the top of Brian Clough.

I was at the game last night, seated near to the minimal seregation.

I have to say, I thought the atmosphere was pretty good. The Newcastle lads in the corner make plenty of noise throughout the game, and we responded and drowned them out at times.

The rest of the ground was pretty silent until you scored (from sitting in the away end). However, when you did, and the whole ground got going, it was very noisey.

Maybe it's a case of Forever Forest sitting further away from the singers in the L7 corner and therefore not hearing them as well?

Was a decent atmopshere from both sets of fans in my opinion. However, I thought our support was fantastic. Not quite sure what it sounded like over the box, but we seemed very loud at times from where i was sitting.

Standing, singing & getting behind the lads for the full 90mins. What it's all about away from home!!

What a lot of tish and piffle all this is, we are louder than you , we have this blah blah blah
There is only one statistic to look at in a pissing contest , one county in the East Midlands has the highest fertility rate in the country, can't remember the name, it begins with R...

Sounded like you mae alot of noise, but you could also hear our lot throughout. Always sounds louder when you're up there, or at any ground for that matter when there is 2000+ other fans all singing with you.

I was roughly in the middle of the Forest fans and I can honestly say I didn't hear the Newcastle fans all night until they scored. Oh and I'm not some young, biased spunker trying to provoke an argument, before you ask. I was also so far away from the pitch that I couldn't tell whether Gunter or Perch was right-back or left-back - and they're a different skin colour!

Nutter, craic, matey, marra. Another tool who has joined a FOREST forum and starts talking bollocks, I dont know why some people bother!

Why is it bollocks to expect 43,000 to outsing 2,800?! That is a ridiculous statement. The myth that goerdie fans are loud was well and truly expelled last night. I would be gutted if 4k geordies out sung 25k reds at the City Ground - thankfully it didnt happen - you obviously didnt go.

Explain why I could hear both sets of fans equally when they're both the same distance away up in the gods?

So according to this statement no one else sing apart from the people on the same leve as the away fans. Hardly a fanatical fanbase that we are lead to believe is it?!

Let me ask you this, how have you managed to get tickets for 10 away games having been to only 5 home matches. I thought Newcastle sold out most away games and would have a loyalty scheme for away tickets!

O and because your fans said the same about us that means we are quiet lol - a bit of hypocrisy there dont you think. The nutters comment was a favourite of mine - there was a 70 year old lady sat behind me. Didnt see her offering out a load of geordies after the game!

I really cant take what you say as accurate as you wernt at the game so do us a favour and :bye:

Members ticket that works on a loyalty points scheme, good mate at work has 4 ST's with his family so often go with him.

Obvious you are a sad bitter man that has already resorted to petty little digs. Fair play I shall leave and also cry as I delete my account, only after a bit of debate but yet you decide to get immature, hilarious.

Still all the best to your team and your fans, still hope you get promoted.

I was at the game last night sat quite close to the segregation line and to say it was 2,800 reds vs 4000? geordies to our right, we matched you at least if not outsang you per head. Nevertheless it was a stunning atmosphere for a wet monday night championship match and newcastle are no doubt a premiership club. I also sky+ the game and we were loud and clear on the box as were newcastle. Commentators even praised us for bringing "a large contingent of 4000".

I thought the atmosphere from the home fans was quiet - but then nearly every ground I've been to (and I've been to most of 'em) are the same - including ours. We were also at a disadvantage geographically for hearing them.

When they did make noise though it was loud - before the game there was a roar, after both goals - but they didn't really get going 'til after the second.

As I said though, same in most home grounds including the City Ground.

Toon fans I met before and after the game were sound and a pleasure to have a chat with, only negatives were the usual leering ******* you get at all grounds immediately outside... the chaps in the pubs and walk from the ground were top.

Enjoyable day/evening - result aside, of course.
