We all hated Billie Davies

when he was at Derby; are we all so sure we love him now?

I don't.

He's got us in a great position, but he's had a fair bit to spend in doing so; so let's not overrate his ability.

I think he is still a horrible little man, and if I could choose I'd opt for a manager who wasn't quite so odious.

And who has put that rubbish byline at the bottom of my posts?

Personally I respected Billy Davies at Preston and Derby for the job he had done at both clubs.

I've been thinking today that I don't like the man. But that matters little. He is a good manager and with the help of the board is moving the club forward.

I liked CC, he was a genuine guy who did his best for the club. But his best wasn't as good as Billy's best. There is not one manager in the Championship that would pick over Billy. Even if I don't like the man.

I didn't hate Billy when he was at Derby purely because i never have and never will give a s**t about the goings on at that lot down the A52. I'm only bothered about what happens to our team.

It really doesn't matter if you, or anyone, likes Billy Davies or not and I don't suppose he really cares either. I dare to say that even Brian Clough wasn't the most popular of managers at times.

What is important, however, is that Billy Davies delivers results and is respected by the club, the players and the fans, all of which no one can deny he has accomplished with Forest this season.

He has spent yes,but he has got us to 3rd with a threadbare squad and with the majority of players that only avoided relegation last season. I have no hesistation that he would go running off if a better offer came along but there's no arguing what a fantastic job he has done this season.

He is a very good Manager and thats all I care about if I'm honest.

I can't stand Warnock but before we got Billy, I'd have had him here in a heartbeat.

I don't hate Billy Davies far from it, in fact i think he has been the best manager since Hart and i wish him well for the rest of his Forest career, how ever he will never match up to Mr B.Clough in what he achieved in his time at Forest and has much as i respect and like Davies he has achieved nothing yet than keep us in this division, time will tell!!

I've said on here a number of times that Billy (bless him) isn't the most likeable chap in the world. However, I just want him to motivate the team and get some good players in; I don't want to invite him round for tea. I hate any other teams' managers if they're in yer face all the time and quite honestly would prefer my own manager to keep out of the press as much as he can.

He is very funny though he reminds me of Ronnie Corbett on the touch line

Spending money doesn't necessarily equate to success.

Look at Bristol City, they've spent plenty since they lost in the play-off's and they've gone backwards.

You probably aren't old enough to remember but we hated BC with a real passion when he was at Derby.

Maybe having a likeable manager isn't necessarily a good thing. As we saw with Calderwood, we all thought he was a nice chap, so we gave him more time to get us out of a bad situation, but ultimately he wasn't the right guy for the job. So with a manager who is a bit of an arsehole then we will base his performances simply on results, which have been a huge improvement on Caldy's.

Maybe its just something with me and my brother, but we can't help but laugh when BD is on tele doing his shtick. I can't remember Calderwood, Megson or Kinnear having the same effect.

Personally I dont care what other teams and their fans think of us and our manager in the slightest

I'll be honest, not only did I not Hate Billy Davies when he was at Derby, I didn't even know who he was... why should I? it made no difference to me.

As for now... yes he can be abrasive, and he can be a bit repetitive in interviews - but he is getting a job done, and getting it done with aplomb!

This seasons objective was progress and a mid table finish, to push on next season to try for promotion, and what have we got? a play-off spot!

As a person, I don't know him, and I refuse to use what I see in the media as an accurate representation - as a Manager, yes, I am sure I love him, and I will continue to do so whilst he does the job we want of him

I first started watching Forest when i was a kid around 81/82 seasons but didn't get my first season ticket untill 1990 which i still do to this day. Most of the clough era at Dirby i only know from reading about and watching old footage film but atleast i can say i have been to many games with the great man in charge and winning some of those league cup finals at wembley, those were great times! sadly though i don't think we will ever reach thoses hights again in todays brand of football.
