The performance on Saturday wasn't unique to davies's tenure.

Remember Norwich, Sheff Utd and Doncaster all similar performances during CC's reign.

That said unless we could appoint a top manager such as Curbs or Allardyce then I would have stuck with CC until the end of the season as I think he knew the squad inside out strengths and weaknesses.

We did put in some very promising performances under CC - Birmingham, Blackpool Coventry Southampton etc.

I wouldn't have chosen BD but he isn't responsible for our current predicament, not after 7 weeks in charge and no opportunity to bring his own players in.

The thing with Davies is that all he is doing is saying the same things you can read on these forum pages. What do we want? Some truth and honesty for once or more of the spin and bollocks we usually get?

Hiring BD was always going to have the potential to explode because he doesn't suffer fools gladly. Then there is his ego as well.

I think most of us would not mind at all if Billy was indeed a rampant ego-maniac, or if he conducted regular rants in the press on whatever subject took his fancy *if the team was playing well and winning*.

As we're (currently) not doing much of either, then a lot of what he says - granted, accurate though it may be - could come across as sour-grapes. Surely, when he took the job on, he must have agreed to the conditions that he had to work under (budget and the management-structure of the club being the two biggest).

The problem is, if he is now saying that the budget isn't enough, and the structure isn't working, then *surely* he should have put his foot down when negotiating to take the job on in the first place?

Brian Clough ranted all the time and he was the greatest man ever lived.

But Billy isnt allowed to?

The difference with Mr Clough was that, in his day, he ran the club from top-to-bottom, and everybody knew it.

For me, as I said above, if Billy wants to come out and yell and shout about whatever he likes, that's fine, he is (obviously) extremely passionate about the job, and about himself) more so than Colin Calderwood, who was maybe a bit tool laid back sometimes.

Billy has to be careful, as his current comments could sound like sour-grapes because he can't get his own way! I do feel that we could be successful under his management, once he gets the team he wants (i.e. the players) and gets the club running the way he wants. Those two steps however are going to take a lot of work, and hopefully, the current problems won't produce a lack of form resulting in another relegation!

Im backing Billy all the way, he speaks sense and has publicly said what exactly we all knew is wrong with this club. Hopefully this will force ND to do something about it as it is now in the nations eyes and actually back Billy.

Also I'd like to add that from what I can see is that the problem is not ND, it is MA and the committee that is supposed to sign players believe it or not :)

ND do you and the club the big favour, either give all transfer powers to Billy (or what ever manager is in charge at any given time) or replace the committee that can actually do a job with signing players that the manager has targetted (or at least attempt unlike the current committee!).

I too feel a little bit concerned about some of the comments Billy makes to the NEP or to Radio Nottingham. I don't think he should make public his obvious concern for the abilities of some of the players. It is undignified and dangerous as some of the previous comments on this post have said.
