The continual reference to us signing Dawson makes me think it is all nonsense. He's playing regularly for top 3 Tottenham, performing well, scoring and now captaining the side. And apparently it's only the wages that are proving to be a stumbing block!!

If we got promoted, and Tottenham reach the CL and strengthen accordingly, maybe we might have a chance. Even then I wouldn't be sure they'd let him go though.

The initial information passed to us by Maverick and Sedge about us chasing Dawson some months back was reliable, personally I think it is a regurgitated rumour which no longer holds substance.

Well Rad's was non-committal when I asked him about his future a few weeks back.

More guess work from Vital

Kilgallon wasn't even mentioned as a possibility until last week..

A top Championship defender who's contract is up in the summer, we quite clearly will be targeting a centre-half, fits the bill.

Nothing more than a calculated guess.

I can't believe people fall for this time and time again when history suggests that they know nothing more than the average fan in the street

Birmingham have no funds? Isn't this the club that publicly stated they have over £20m to spend in Jan?

Thanks Dan,

Dawson needed some games under his belt, Forest neeed a center half, then after recovoring from his injury Dawson has again staked his claim for first team football at Spurs. Unlike other players who we have seen here on loan in recent years, Dawson wanted to come back and play for Forest, although he knew that nothing long term was on the cards.

Also his wages turned out to be a large stumbling block.

£3.5m for Bale is £2.5m too much if Shorey is only worth £1.4m.

He garnered a reptuation for himself through scoring a few cracking goals, but he can't defend to save his life. We should avoid him altogether.

Nor could Paul Scholes but not a bad player

Paul Scholes scores and sets up a shit load of goals. He can't tackle, but he can defend and get in position. His movement, vision, reading of the game and passing is world class.

If Bale had an ounce of that intelligence and skill, I'd be happy to have him!

Unless we're looking at him to play left midfield (which, if memory serves, is where he started his career for Southampton) with Shorey at left back.

You are moaning about possibly signing a player of Bale's quality - Shows just how far we have come. :)

Thats my point. If we sign Bale as an attacking left sided player then does he have to be Paulo Maldini in the tackle? I've seen Glen Jonnson have appauling games as a defender but it doesn't make him a bad player.
How many finished articles are there in world football currently going for about 3 million quid....?
