Visiting the City ground

Alright lads, after a bit of info, live in Scotland,i have been following Forest for some years without actually travelling to a game..started off in 1993 watchin Forest V Man Utd,the whole pub was united, when Collymore scored in a 1-1 game i was the only one who cheered for Forest!,and ever since i have always looked out for the results.

Anyhow, myself and a few mates (who i have persuaded to see the light and watch Forest :D ) have arranged to come down for a league game.

What stand is the best for atmosphere? and what game would you recommend?

Appreciate any info and look forward to coming down!

Cheers :)

A block or VChandler Corner for Atmosphere.

Derby for game.

The best areas for singing as such are the A block (of the main stand) and Capital One Corner. You might find you have to fanny around more with petty squabbling between stewards and fans all game in the A block, however if it's a lower profile game that's the place to be for at least some liveliness guaranteed every match.

If it's a bigger match like Derby or Leicester I'd say anywhere in the Trent End is pretty good, and the view up the back is pretty awesome.

Anywhere in the Brian Clough is pretty silent, although as with the Trent End if it's a big game I'd be happy with a ticket anywhere as the whole place will be buzzing, even if your precise area is sat down throughout the game

Hope you pick a good'n and enjoy yourselves.

I totally agree with Robbie's post on both counts.

There will be a fair few supporters heading south in November too which, I'm sure, will ensure that the City Ground is rocking.

My advice would be to subscribe to the forum also and meet up with fellow Forum members pre-match in The Globe. ;D

As long as you get tickets booked when they go on sale you should easily get tickets for the Derby game.

Agree that A Block or Block U1/U2 in the Upper Bridgford would be the best places to sit (formerly Capital One Corner :D ).

Derby would be my choice mate but had that down as difficult to get tickets for?

Shouldn't be too bad if you watch out for the general sale and get on the phone or internet quick. With different ordering systems you're not disadvantaged compared to other fans who live closer.

You should be able to get tickets. It's not like an away game or cup game where the season ticket holders snap up the tickets because obviously they are already in.

I fancy us to beat them this year as well. If not them, maybe Leicester or Newcastle? They should be good. Also the last home game of the season is usually a good one.

I'd go for Capital One Corner (or whatever it's called now) for the best mix of atmosphere and view.

8)What odds mate? Also, is that both home fixtures, or both home/away?

No wonder my post count..
Cap one corner for me also. Sat there for the first time against the last game of the season v Southampton.

A sold out stadium full of relieved and happy Forest fans = some amazing atmosphere.

Definitely goes down as one of the best days of the year so far.

All fixtures, I think it was 7/2 - check out the LTLF Paddypower thread - it's one of the specials on there you can get if you sign up through the LTLF link :)

A lot of people forget T block Brian Clough lower, that is the only part of the brian clough that is loud.

against Southampton it was a great atomosphere.

I would personally recommend anywhere in the Upper Trent End.

The view is stunning and the atmosphere is nowhere near as bad as people seem to think, I sit there for every game so should know!

Have only sat in A block once but I wasn't very impressed with the view so wouldn't sit there again.

Too far from the away fans though. A banterless pursuit.

Unfortunatley evert time i've sat in the bridgford upper we ended up losing and so we were on the receiving end of the banter instead of the other away round,, not much fun at all! Hence i sit Trent End 8)
