I had the unfortunate circumstance of sitting in the Brian Clough stand today. Everybody looked at me as if I was mad when I tried to sing and the constant "SIT DAHHHHHHHHHHHHHN" was annoying. I used to have a season ticket in U1 of VCC and the atmosphere was good. Can anyone tell me if U2 is decent aswell?

Was it as annoying for you, as seeing you keep popping up and blocking someone's view was to them ?

There were seats available in The Main Stand and the VC Corner. Why didn't you go into one of them?

Good point.

It's all well and good if the people around you are doing the same and will join in if you start a chant, but if you keep jumping up and blocking peoples view then you will get the response you have moaned about. . . . .

Wanted to take advantage of student discount. Paying full for 'Boro though!

Segdred seems to have taken an instant dislike to me. Oh well!

It was the start of the game and I was trying to promote some sort of atmosphere. You seem to have gotten the idea that I just stood up and blocked some old man for 90 minutes.

Not at all, promise you. ;D Mind you Student Discount may sway things a little

When you reach my ripe old age and some one in front of you keeps popping up and down like some demented Jack in the Box, believe me it is so annoying, I was just offereing an alternative view

Pay full whack and get yourself in the A-Block. You can stand til your hearts content in there, in spite of the neon-Nazi's patrolling.

But anyone who goes in that stand knows it is the quiet area, that's why I avoid it like the plague. But many people enjoy the view from up there.

the atmosphere is normally ace in VCC, but the stewarding was the worst id ever seen today. Every time a chant was started, or as an atmosphere began to develop, several stewards would come and pay us a friendly visit at regular 5 minute intervals, happily throwing people out without warning. However the sheffield Wednesday fans were allowed to stand unopposed to " ground safety regulations". I hope this doesn't continue as its a real killer for the atmoshpere and everyones enjoyment of the game.

All is well then. :)

& like I say, the student discount really swayed it for me. Cut ticket price by over 50%. I knew the BC stand was quiet, but I thought (well, hoped) that with it being a student area in G-Block, that it'd be full of loud youngsters up for a song or 2!

Student discount really pisses me off, I used to be on apprentice wages for 5 years, graft hard all week, and struggle to pay for things, Forest never offered lads who went to work on poor apprentice wages discount.

Surely students if keen about education should be doing their homework or even working to try and clear their debts?

You suggest we should never have any free time ever?
I do work and had a day off hence buying an individual match ticket rather than a season ticket. Also, my latest assignment was in yesterday!
To be fair, it's not our fault YOU didn't get a discount. You should have been lobbying for apprentice discount rather than complaining about ours. If it was up to me I'd see the price of tickets around the price of discounted tickets for everyone as its far too expensive!

Good point Sedg. Do you think if -as it has been mentioned- standing terraces are reintroduced into football they might have the sense to write in the tiers height limits, ie 6"+, 5"10... etc so that midgets don't get stuck looking at someones arse all the game?

Lets just say i had a heated discussion with 1 of the nazis today. They even had a new YTS recruit amongst them today who got upset when i questioned his alliegance to Forest. They do their upmost best every game to ruin anykind of atmosphere being generated and i get the feeling they`d love it to all kick off to up their kick out figures.

Scum the lot of them.

If you were an apprentice, you would still get studant discount as you surely must of done day release or something similar which entitles you to an NUS card.

Sat there a couple of seasons ago against Derby. Stewards were the same then, i wouldn't sit there if i had a free ticket.

Get in early and get a seat on the back row of the stand. You can pop up and down to your hearts content up there....

While were on the subject of VC corner, why cant we sing Mist rolling in from the Trent in time with everyone else? had a season ticket there for a few years now and didn't notice that we sing it about 10 times quicker until I spent a game in the A block a few weeks back, I sound stupid now singing it much slower on my own by the way.
