I just don't think he's anywhere near the level we want to be aiming for as a club now. Still respect him for the job he did, but we can't sit still and Marinakis was always going to go for as good a manager as possible this close season after events last year.

I think Glasner could be the 2nd coming if it clicks, but I am very nervous about two things - his "streaky" record at Palace (we don't do patience here) and more nervous that he seems happy to rinse and alienate a player if they don't conform, considering how much our precious darlings loved VP who was everybodys best mate, and how badly they reacted to Dyche blaming everyone except himself

Fair concerns, but I think we need to change that culture or we'll be forever bowing down to players, and Glasner has the pedigree to do that.

I know the modern game always demands some level of player-sating, but if we want to compete with the best we need a culture here where players are pro and committed enough to give their all even if not fully happy.

It's true that loyalty goes both ways and in football it's generally lacking. But if the reports are true about the 11:58 email then that's disappointing.

If you don't want the man to continue managing the team then fine, but treat him with at least a modicum of decency.

Honestly, I'm over the moon VP has gone. I think it's a very ballsy and correct decision by the big man.

Wins against the utterly dire Burnley & Spurs and a stupendously off-form Chelsea form 3/4's of wins to keep us up, and aren't results which instill much confidence of pushing on back to Europe next year.

Kudos to VP for the job he did keeping us up, but that level of job isn't good enough for the long term and we've all been expecting a change in the Summer for months.

I'm genuinely confused here, you spent weeks if not months defending an utterly dreadful manager in Dyche and then first chance you get stick the boot into Pereira who essentially transformed us overnight.

Watching the same players under Dyche and then Pereira was like going from a 15" black and white portable to 50" HD.

Nothing confusing about it. Both were gonna go season end, making that happen swiftly and decisively for a manager of Glasner's quality is a great way to do it, and would have been for Dyche too.

Shouldn't be hard to understand. It's only an issue if you think VP is better than Glasner, and beating mostly awful teams to stay up doesn't convince me he is. I'd take Glasner every day of the week.
