Having had a few days to digest our loss at Prideless I got to thinking whether BD got it right or did he make a ricket?

Last night I was out with friends who are long term season ticket holders - having sat down (pint in hand) the topic straight away was all about Forest/Derby.

We got to talking about whether Tyson should really have played or not. BD not only dropped the lad but also left him back in Nottingham.

Billy has explained his reasons and saw fit to leave him out because of the volatile situation and the repercussions it might have with the crowd.

I am in the mind that BD made a mistake with this one and I must say it is the first time I have criticised or questioned the man before.

Firstly had he played Tyson, a lot of attention would have been taken away from the other players - His instructions should have been to cut in from the wing at every opportunity and go for goal at speed.

I'm sure it would have provoked several reckless tackles resulting into a possible sending off and upsetting their game plan that won the day.

If you don't agree, that's fine we all have different opinions but lets ask one question:

Had the tables been reversed and had it been Savage at the Prideless who got into a situation like Tyson did - would they have dropped him in the return match at the CG?

I don't think they would because they would have wanted all the attention on Savage whilst others got on with their jobs and if you remember when Commons first came back here Savage got up to his antics in order to divert the attention away from him.

I agree totally the day of the game a friend and I discussed the very subject...Didn't make sense to me, Savage causes havoc wherever he goes but plays every week...It was like we admitted we were wrong and we apologised for it by dropping him....sod that, I bet Tyse was seething inwardly out of all the games you want to be involved in it would be this...and on reflection none of our subs made any impact but Tyse would've cause havoc down the left there.

My Derby friends were very pleased with Tyson being left out. Derby can't cope with pace attacking them on the wings, it has been their undoing many times this season.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It is but that's what makes football mate is the what ifs and buts that we discuss throughout a season, Otherwise it would be abit mundane now hey?

Maybe Billy wants his players to focus fully on their football in the long term rather than short sightedly on one rival match. Promotion is afterall far more important than beating Derby.

The team we sent out should have beat Derby. Unfortunately it did not, but had Tyson played we may have ended up with many more suspensions and injuries than we did.

I also highly doubt that the inclusion of one player would make such a vast difference. He's not ronaldo afterall.

As I stated bud i wouldn't have started him but I would've taken him for impact though (as he has been used for all season) :)

Should have played. You can't defend pace, isn't that what all managers say? Though in hindsight :) maybe he would have taken one foul too many and got injured for the next few games??

I said in the chat room pre-match that dropping Tyson for the reasons given meant that in essence Savage determined our team line-up.

Still...it was for the right reasons...

At least by defusing the situation, there wasn't an ugly 20-man brawl at the end, and it's not as if one manager is accusing the other of kicking him, or that the lawyers are involved or anything daft like that.

Oh...........

Perhaps Tysons suspended 2 game ban had some part to play, it was inevitable that the players would square up at some point and if Tyson was to be involved in any way then I'm sure the FA would have no problem in triggering that suspension.

Having said that I still feel the fact he wasn't in the squad was the wrong decision, especially with Derby not blessed in the pace department even as an impact substitute Tyson could well have changed things, although probably not

I think with Tyson being left at home it went on to prove that Derby just wanted a scrap no matter what happened.

At least we were big enough to say you know what lets not have any of that nonsense its only a game of football and we don't need that type of thing in the game, we are better than that.

But D***y took exception to it and decided that it wasn't enough to avoid trouble, just like there neanderthal fans outside.

We was awful in the first half and struggled to keep the ball ,We was lucky camp played a blinder and the sheep couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo,Second half was better from us but just not good enough

By leaving Tyson behind, he has shown he is a bigger man than NLN.

When deliberating over the footage of the altercation, the FA will take into account that King Billy had tried defuse the powderkeg, by leaving Tyson in a different county. By contrast, all the evidence points to NLN and his team of cloggers going looking for a fight.

Hope they make an example of Nigel. Whilst King Billy has us playing the kind of football that Nigel's dad would purr about, Clough jnr is behaving like a petty minded vandal from Chaddesden.

Nigel may share the same surname as Sir Brian, but on the evidence of both teams tactics, playing style, sense of fairplay, and the inspired personnel recuitment, King Billy is much closer to the great man than the sullen faced Daddys boy from down the road.

Totally agree i was saying all week we should start tyson even if it meant not playing moussi and goin 4-5-1 with cohen in the centre or cohen left back and moussi centre as tyson and perch left hand side for me with them targeting tyson could have made it hard work for whoever was on the left with him, this would have freed up our other players to play more

I think I'm right in saying that Tysons punishment was in part suspended, clearly he would of been a target for all those 11 wind up merchants that were the sheep on saturday, not to mention what could/would of happened if he had been involved in any way in the kneegate incident near the end. For those reasons the decision to leave him at home was correct!

Tys's main attribute is pace along the ground. As is Ando's. Wouldn't of made a blind bit of difference imo !

It's starting to get to me this 'what if' and 'why not's'. We lost. Derby figured out the team and out-battled us. The pitch was the equivalent of a Dr Martins match, and we couldn't get going !

Lets not start analysing where we went wrong. I have my opinions but it's not like it's going to make a damn bit of difference !

I thought it was a mistake on Saturday lunchtime. However, as someone else said it's only going to go in our favour at the hearing - clear evidence that the club acted to try and calm the situation.

A typical Billy Davies move.....

he got everything wrong on the day, but it's only one game so we can forgive and forget.

Yeah it wasn't the best day for him, but I also think Derby played to their game plan and shut our players down.

Oh well I wont be calling for him to step down . . . .

In every interview I heard with a direby player, before and after the game, they mentioned what Tyson did at the CG. For this reason, I would say Billy was right to leave him at home.

I reckon when the sheep saw that Tyson was out of the squad, they though that we wernt up for the fight. It must have given them a psychological advantage. But its over now, if he did play he could have quite easily got sent off for lashing out so who knows. I would have loved to see him warming up during the game though giving the scum fans loads of grief :D

Its weird that Direby are so fixated on Tyson why not just try and sign him and be done with it.
