Tyson To Reading

As a replacement for Doyle.

A mate of mine reckons there could be something in this.

I'm a big tyson fan, but he's really not a very good out and out striker, his finishing just isn't good enough. He'd be an amazing left winger if he wanted to play there and worked on his delivery a bit more (which is hard when your travelling close to the speed of sound).

So if he did go i'd be slightly sad, wish him all the best and hope we didn't live to regret it. If we could get McSheffrey in if he did go the squad would look a bit more balanced.

Why would he want to go to a smaller club? :p

Reading are waning, we are waxing :D

No chance him leaving us at the moment. He loves the club and the area too much.

Reading sell a pacey forward who can't finish to Wolves for £6.5 million.

Therefore we should ask that for Tyson. lol

To be honest though, there I doubt there's any more in this than when we get linked with all our ex-players all the time.

Didn't he sign a contract extension / new contract in January? Pretty sure he did, not much chance of him going without a very good offer coming in I would have thought, and he's brought his girls up in the area and apparently loves the area.

Doubt this one tbh

Interesting call.

I wouldn't particularly want Tyson to go, but if we were getting Blackstock in then if Reading were to offer anything over £1.5 then I'd be sorely tempted.

Not a chance of it happening , Reading sold him and Tyson has hardly progressed since then. He was a speed demon with no ball control at reading then and he's still a speed demon with no ball control now. :D

Of course if true , if Reading will to offer 3-5 million , sell sell sell.

Well it would mean we could hold out for a big fee since Doyle went for a hefty fee. He isn't worth alot though I would take £1m personally that seems like a fairly good deal. Would miss his pace but can't see him featuring a lot when having to compete with the Earnshaws, McGoldricks and Adebolas to compete with. Not to mention the chance of Blackstock being part of that aswell.

Saying that Reading could aim a lot higher than Tyson with the amount of money they have available.

Billy will likely play Tyson on the left.

Would hate to see Tyson at any other club, especially playing against us.

I still feel he's quite underrated by people, just because he's fast, and a lot of other things he does is ignored.

As Tyson only signed a new contract last season I suspect Reading will have to part with some serious lolly to temp Forest to sell.

How many people would have Tyson in their starting line up? Who would you drop?

I like him as an impact player but I'm not sure he'd be happy with that if Reading came in.

I still think we will get Mcsheffery. BD rates him massively and Cohen is more likely to play there if we sign Mckenna as well...

Still cant believe the bookies think Leicester have a better chance of winning the league. That upsets me massively.

Cohen needs to be played in the middle especially after what Billy says about putting square pegs in square holes , Tyson on the left is fine , his pace will always be an asset down the flanks.

would not like to see this happen, and i doubt it will what with billy's six striker dream.

For big money, yes. He's just signed a new 3 or 4 year contract, categorically said he loves the area and he's settled and so are his family, which is important to him. In his interview he stated his girls have started school here now and have friends, and I think this is a huge factor for Nathan.

We don't need to sell, we don't need the money, so I highly doubt this

What's all this can't finish talk?

I think it's a myth. He can't stay fit, his first touch is sometimes woeful but if he was fit for the whole season and he played as an out and out striker I could definitly see him getting to the hallowed 20 mark.

Finishes at Brighton away, and a close range volley at home stick in my mind. I'd actually say Earnshaw is guilty of missing more clear cut chances.

And Man City? Yes, his problem is getting on the field not scoring once he's there.

I was pointing that out all last season :D

It's funny that people say Tyson can't finish when he had a fraction of the chances Earnshaw had, and Earnie should have had 20 goals. Tyson was often the creator of many chances too.

BUT, on that point, most of our team were guilty of missing good chances at times (Cohen, McGugan, Anderson, McCleary etc). We definately need to be more clinical overall, and shot more from the edge of the box when there is a sight of goal. We were far better towards the end of the season, especially with Garner in the team.

But why?

The suggestions of attempting to bring in the likes of McSheffery we now have Anderson and McCleary to choose from all of which as far as I'm concerned are better than Tyson on the wing. He will have the occassionaly great game on the wing but it just doesn't seem to work in a regular basis as far as I'm concerned.

He isn't one of these players who affects results like Ando does so the whole "it's the things nobody notices that make him good" argument doesn't really wash with me if those little things were on going it should affect results if they don't he lacks something and we can do better.

Then there is this Earnie missed more sitters. I agree partly but remember Earnie was also injured throughout the season and managed to score a vast amount of goals considering. The reason he had less chances cannot be put down to service etc. because Earnie had to daeal with the same poor creatiivity Earnie makes better runs and is more effective in front og goal Tyson just isn't and the facts support that.
