Tyson on relegation

Interesting... Not the usual recycled comments churned out by footballers these days. Intelligent and thoughtful comments from Nathan.

Thats what I thought too. Hopefully we shall see some evidence of this determination to stay up over the coming 5 weeks.

Hope every players feels the same.

Lets hope we see this in the performances for the remainder of the season, we have a team at the moment good enough to be at the the top of this league.

Tyson grows on me more and more.

Anyone notice the comment at the bottom about the players going away at the weekend?

Yes, I did see that. Wilson, Chambers and to a lesser extent McSheffrey I could probably believe, but I doubt Morgan would be in any rush to get out of the country with his child still being ill.

Its only another one of those "I've heard" comments.

They've always managed to be so highly accurate in the past. <sarcasm mark>

He nearly always seems to give it his all, Tyson, bless his little socks.

On paper our lineup is reasonably terrifying to be honest, players just need to play with passion again. A team that can beat man city 3-0, no matter how weak a side and then lose to burnley 5-0 obviously needs a kick up the arse mentally.

Tyson has recieved and noticed said kick, the others just need to aswell.

It also said Mcgugan would have gone but he got called up to England Under 21's.

I think it said in case he got called up, which Psycho said almost happened, but there are already too many midfielders!

I don't believe it either way.

The thing about this is, if these people know, then BD would know, and i'm fairly sure he wouldn't stand for such immaturity and unprofessionalism.

I think this is why a will always be a Tyson fan. His passion for the club is fantastic.

He has always been one of our more intelligent speakers and always looks at things laterally. I like Tyson on and off the pitch. We need him wether we are up or down next year.

I think you can say that Tys IS the model professional ! One that the young lads should look up to on how they show themselves and play.

I can't imagine him leaving the club !

I really don't think he'll be going anywhere. Just signed a new contract and to be honest, how many CCC teams are really going to want him? His goalscoring record this year has been pretty woeful, even if he does put in 100% everytime.

Fairly interesting comments, if only because he strays one step further than the usual 'we'll give our all' speech.

Relegation would bring unspeakable peril to Nottingham Forest. The club would cut ties with a generation of supporters.

Imagine having to commit to a fourth season in the third tier; slogging it out in the shadows of terraces with "you're not famous anymore" ringing in your ears. And even if we were promoted, there'd be another year of uncertainty and struggling.

Most people just won't put up with it.

If Forest are relegated this year the club will have blown its last chance to stay in touch with a desirable level of football. Already we have fallen a decade behind the up-and-coming clubs who have filled our slot in the first division.

There would be nothing to stop us becoming as meaningless as a club like Huddersfield, who have about three living supporters who can remember when they were decent.

Good point. We're in danger of losing a whole generation of fans to the sheep. Just as when they were languishing in Div 3 in the 80s whilst we had Psycho, young Nige etc and we picked up plenty of fans who could have gone either way, youngsters who don't have ardent fans as dads but want to try the whole football experience may end up at PP. They'll get a free ticket for their first game, then a cheap family deal, and it may well be a full house. Compare that to yet more boos at the City Ground and they'll not want to come back.

We desperately need to stay up this season to stop the above happening.

I think the comments are fair enough but I agree that the players should have considered such things during some of the previous 40 matches. Sweet talk shan't comfort those fans who attended the Burnley, Norwich, Doncaster and Wolves matches, where our performances were a disgrace.

Do people in the A52 area of Nottingham actually take to supporting a local team any more or less than anywhere else in the county? Nearly all kids just f**king support one of the big four don't they, no matter where in Notts they grow up?

Very much so, I live near Mansfield and the break-up seems to be as follows; 95% Big Four, 2-3% Other Premiership side, 1% Mansfield Town, 1% Nottingham Forest, 0-1% Other random club.

Very few Derby fans, almost none in fact, and literally no Leicester fans that I've encountered. If Derby were a Premiership team, I dare say they'd be a threat, but they're not.

I'm not so sure about that. I've definitely seen lots more kids in the new Forest shirts after promotion, than I did in the old shirts years before. I think a lot of younger kids would have given Forest more attention after the promotion. And in turn, I think if we do get relegated, kids would be much less reluctant to care.

In my experience, we actually seem to be quite well represented in Peterborough...which is perhaps suprising. I'd estimate 70% Big Four; 10% Foreign Sides; 10% Peterborough United; 5% Forest; 5% Other.

Wtf, I went to work at an ice stadium there in my Forest shirt and all the kids slagged me off for being a Liverpool fan because they didn't recognise the shirt, then got funny with me when I said "its Forest!" mistaking the word "Forest" for "f*** off". All of which makes me question your stats :)

How random...mind you, I'd imagine most kids in the ice stadium are either interest in hockey, or one of them gay-tastic ice dancing 'sports'.

Forest are 'well represented' all over the country. On holiday in Malia last June I found that there were more Forest shirts, shorts and tattoos than any other club (barring Manchester United, of course).

The proportion who are actually prepared to go to games has remained consistently low for the last 20 years. The difference is that, in another 20 years, there simply won't be as many supporters.
