Top scorers

All, just looked at the top scorers league. Forest players aren't in the top 15, yet we now have the 3rd best goal difference.

I reckon this is a good thing as it shows that we are not relying on the strikers and goals are coming from all over the pitch.

I just thought this was interesting as when we've gone up in the past we relied a lot on the strikers i.e. Collymore, PVH, Campbell, Roy

We have a nice spread of goal scorers. Competition is always good. You are less likely to get your team disrupted by spoilers if none in particular shine and create a large price tag.

It's a great thing, looking at Chopra shows why, he hasn't scored in donkeys.

I reckon that a more interesting statistic is the fact that we have only conceded 8 goals away from home all season - only Leeds have conceded less!

I used to think the same thing abot Cloughie's sides as a naive 13 year old I'd bemoan the fact that our centre forwards werent top of the goalscoring charts whilst neglecting the fact that our whole team would weigh in with the goals. Far far better position to be in especially when you consider injuries etc Think you'l start to see Cohen, Mckenna and Maj start to enter the goalscoring a bit more over the coming months

For years, when the strikers haven't scored many goals, the whole team hasn't. I only remeber Ian Breckin one season kept popping up with goals, but apart from that if we hit a dry patch then we would of struggled for goals.
So it's great to see goals coming from other areas of the pitch, and you could tell by the way we attack that everyone wants to get involved.

What is it now for league goals?

Blackstock - 7
Earnie - 7
Dele - 3
Lewis - 3
Raddy - 3
McGoldrick - 3

and then quite a few on ones and twos.

I think it's a great asset to be able to create goal scoring opportunities from all over the park. It proves how flexible and versitile we are as a team. It also shows how well we link up and communicate and take every single chance in front of goal. Doesn't always pay off but if you don't shoot then you won't score.

I imagine also that it's more difficult for our opposition not having a clear and obvious striker to manage. Whereas watching the likes of Earnie is important, it may just take the focus off other players able to take their chance.
