Top by March

Looking at the fixtures for February I reckon any one of the top three could be top by the end of the month. The fixture make interesting reading:

NEWCASTLE
Home: Cardiff, Coventry and Preston
Away: Derby, Swansea, Reading, Watford

W.B.A.
Home: Scunthorpe, Derby
Away: Plymouth, Reading, Cardiff, Bristol

FOREST
Home: Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Middlesborough
Away: Coventry, Doncaster, Leicester

Any of the top three can drop points - lets just hope we drop the least.

I think Newcastle will beat Coventry, Preston and Reading.

Draw with Cardiff, Derby and Swansea and lose to Watford. 12 points.

WBA will beat Scunny, Derby and Plymouth. Draw with Bristol and Reading and lose to Cardiff. 11 points.

Forest will beat Wednesday, Boro and Coventry. Draw with Sheff Utd, Donny and Leicester. 12 points.

Tight stuff!

Big month February will really shape the table, we need to play out of our skins as it looks to me as we have the most difficult month. However if we can pull off the wins WBA are know to have the odd surprise off day and Newcastles form this second half hasn't been blistering, as I believe more teams are going at them and making a game of it i.e Leicester and Derby.

All in all I hope to see us sitting 2nd come start of may 3pt gap to 3rd, and 4pts of the top.

Think it'll be tight til the end of the season now. Cardiff may well join the race too.

I reckon Newcatle have the most difficult set of fixtures there Cardiff, Derby, Swans will not be easy, and I fancy Reading to start improving.
OUr toughest games (on paper) are Sheff U, Boro (will improve) and Leics.

Prediction:

Newcastle 12 pts
WBA 11 pts
Forest 14 pts

Puts us in 2nd hot on the heels of Toon going into March

Looking at those fixtures, we could actually do with hoping that last Saturday's result gave Derby a big lift and puts them on a bit of a run results wise...

I think it will go to the last two games of the season, we will win games we will lose and we will draw, but one of the top tow will play in vertical stripes, the other won't

If it came to the last game of the season if we go up, then someone can have my ticket. I honestly dont think I could cope with losing out. Im getting really nervous NOW.

I'm really worried about some of you lot! For goodness sake, we lost a scrappy game to one of the worst footballing sides in the division. The table is what should give us confidence, not one game. The reverse is true of Derby - they've been pathetic and it won't change just because they managed to stop us. People were worried about QPR at home, WBA away etc. Even minus Shorey, we are much the same side, playing the same way. Don't worry! We pay Davies to do that and so far, he's done pretty well.

well spoke that man. One game at a time. I cant cope with this six games ahead view, hurts my head. Maybe with 3 games to go I might start doing the maths...

Wishful thinking if you reckon West Brom are only going to get 4 points in 2 months and we're going to get 18 :D

Wow, looks like Peterborough will be on a good run to pick up 14 points between now and March.

Can't see Derby only getting 3 points though.

If that is the table by the end of march, I'll put 5 pitchers of lager on the table the next time I am up!

Worst case scenario is play offs, and that's on hell of an achievment for such a small squad.

Billy, will have them prepared for any play off lottery so enjoy the ride!
