I agree and feel very smug today as four out of the six of us left before the goal and I saw it in all its glory! I never leave early either. At £26 a ticket I want to get every last second out of it!

That really annoys me. I would understand if the traffic was terrible after the game but it isn't, alot of people use public transport, alot of people walk into town for a few bevvies, at most the only delay a car experiences is having a teeny bit of patience not to run over fellow fans on Trent Bridge. Seriously, its Saturday, what's so important to get back for? You may be, all in all, 15 minutes late getting home than usual.

So, yeah, har har hahh.

It's because they don't go for the game, they go for a good moan.

The best was Bristol last season. 2-1 and we won 3-2 after all the moaners around us had an embarrasing hissy fit as they left.

Last minute drama is one of the best things about football.

Can I just point out that not everyone who leaves early is a complete ****? I travel to every home game all the way from Dover and those few minutes I miss at the end of the second half generally end up cutting my journey home by as much as an hour, as I avoid the queue to get into the toilets / out of the ground at the end of the game, and I'm usually able to just beat the traffic build-up on the way out of Nottingham.

So yes, I miss out on those last-minute equaliser celebrations (although you can be sure I'm always listening to the closing minutes on the radio as I dash along the Trent on the way back the car) but if you're going to try to cast any doubt on my commitment to the Reds then you're a long, long way wide of the mark.

I often leave early at half time because the beer pumps are that antiquated and bar staff so crap that if I didn't there's no way I'd be able to finish my pint before the second half :p

I have always found the droves of fans who end for the exits routinely strange. It is disrespectful not to stay and applaud the team off for one.

Traffic is a bitch leaving the stadium, but I doubt many people need to rush off home for urgent matters either!

My Dad was a season ticket holder for thirty years or more. He used to leave early to get the beers in for his sons before the rush at the Lady Boy.

He missed several wins this way, but we got good beer so all is well.

Bristol Rovers away 2 years back was quite amusing. Rovers took an early lead, then got a penalty, and some bloke stood up and announced he had seen enough and off he went after 27 minutes not even staying to see if the penalty was converted (it was to make it 0-2)

It was 2-2 by half time!

Jerellis has a responsible excuse but what's an extra hour on your trek home when you pay dozens of money to watch Forest play? This goes out to everyone who left early today; You missed out on something really special today so you could rush home before everyone else, you should think about your actions & learn from this stupid mistake.

Only ever lert one game early and that was Donny Rovers on boxing day last season.

Mind I always said I wouldn't leave early after what happened to my dads mate one season after this happened lol

fans who criticise other fans for something they know f*** all about are idiots. How do you know what circumstances cause people to leave early? It's about time you concentrate on enjoying the team rather than the millions of football fans all over the country that leave football matches early. You have no right to criticise. It's their choice, their right.

I said to the bloke next to us who left with his mates a bit early 'you're going to miss a goal', I'll be rubbing that in next home game :)

Yeah people can leave, if they have good reason it's fine. The majority who leave do so because they can't see a result coming and they want to miss the worst of the traffic, both reasons seem daft to me. There was a stat in the programme today which i spotted at half time about the number of championship goals missed by leaving 10mins before the end, nearly 200 i think. An apt stat for yesterdays game.

Trust me, it makes a huge difference. It's pretty exhausting travelling all that way for a football match, and I've a wife and a six-month-old son at home who are quite partial to seeing as much of Dad at the weekend as possible. Plus the money's not really an issue. And match day is about so much more than just the game itself, if that makes sense; I get to spend the day with my mum and my nephews from Northampton, we all have a laugh on the way up to Nottingham (and a good chat about the game on the way back), we have a nice meal before kick-off, and of course we enjoy 95% of the game itself at the City Ground. Plus, as I mentioned earlier, we're always tuned into Radio Nottingham to catch the final few minutes while we're dashing along the Trent back to the car.

Here's something to consider - some of the most memorable Forest goal celebrations for me have taken place on the banks of the Trent. In particular, I'll never forget celebrating the equaliser against Bristol City last year underneath Trent Bridge and going absolutely potty, and then going even more loopy and dancing a jig of joy by the riverside when Blackstock scored the winner. Great times, and I'm certain that I wouldn't remember those goals quite so clearly or so fondly if I'd been celebrating them from my seat in the ground where I celebrate all of the others.

What a fir-king useless post!!! Who gives a flying f*** whether folks leave early or not - If they miss a goal - So what, It's their prerogative and if they want to pay £25 and go early then that's up to them.

I suppose the only time it bothers me is when they have to come past to get out and I have to keep standing up.

It happens at every ground up and down the country and everyone will have their own reasons for doing so but who gives a sh!t?

And before you ask - I have never left my seat early, even when we are getting hammered.

It's one of the most frustrating things in football when people are leaving early and they are all walking past and blocking your view, it's pathetic what do they thing they are going to gain in those few minutes

Was anyone else at Brentford away a few seasons ago?

A hour in, we were 2-0 down and defending abysmally. It was a low point in the Calderwood regime. Half the stand left.

Then the game ended rather differently!

I always like to applaud the team off the pitch and choose not to leave my seat until the last player descends down the tunnel, irrespective of the performance and the result.

Yesterdays final gasping winner is the other reason. Moments like that are priceless and I wouldn't wish to miss them for anything. I happily sat in standstill traffic on Trent Bridge listening to the post match interview with a satisfied and smug feeling inside.

I appreciate other people have more urgent commitments yet leaving early is something I would never do.

I left early yesterday as I do most games regardless of the score or performance as I don't enjoy being stuck in traffic in Nottingham. Where as if I were to use public transport then I will usually stay till the end of the match.

It makes me laugh that people seem to label themselves more loyal for staying a few extra minutes and try and make it a competition. Last week I left shortly after the second goal at Leicester knowing we were beaten which prompted an old bloke covered in Red to shout Part Time supporters, after I was 10 yards or so away ofcourse. What is it with fans thinking they are "better" than others, its as if some fans enjoy labelling themselves more loyal than any others which is pretty pathetic to be honest. I didnt miss a League away game for our first season in League One, however due to work commitments didn't get a season ticket but a half after I changed jobs in December but it doesn't make me less or any more loyal than any other fan.
