What do you mean? Him trying to get his team going? The thing that hes sort of paid to do. What did you want him to do? Look down his trousers all game?

I sort of know where I am on this after weeks of tormenting my soul. Do I politely clap??, sing his name??, boo him??. Remembering seeing him play in one of the best Forest side I have seen in my lifetime and then watching him take over at the rams really did put me in turmoil. Thank you for those memories, they will be with me for a long time.

But today I read this from Nigel on the BBC website:

"Nigel Clough, a firm favourite Forest forward from 1984 to 1993, said he was 100% focussed on bringing success for the Rams.

"I'm completely Derby now - I've got very fond memories and they'll never go away supporting [Forest] for nine or ten years and then playing for the same period of time - but that all goes out the window.""

Well know this Nigel, I am completley Forest!!. You have pinned your colours to the mast so I will do the same, not that I need to because my allegience is in my heart and can't be swapped. Despite the seasons frustration, dashed hopes and glimmers of success. Until you cross the A52 you are now Derby and I reserve the right to hate you with the irrational feelings that our local rivalry brings. I hope you lose every game you are in charge of the sheep. I don't care for your personal success but will happily gloat at your failure until such a time that you leave/are sacked and finally severe your links with the sheep.

There... thats better.

I actually found it quite upsetting watching our second highest scorer of all time and the son of our greatest ever manager, supporting and managing our biggest rivals. I wonder how long it will take me to actually start really despising him.

I thin it's clear that footballers do not give a shit about who they play for, as long as they're getting paid. Clought has been my hero for about 20 years but after seeing him tonight, BILLY DAVIES RED AND WHITE ARMY!!!!!!!! Clough can go and F--k himself!!! all that matters is how is signing their cheques, no matter if it's commons, earnshaw, clough or davies,

End of. If he's Derby, he's Derby. I'm Forest so I don't wish him any success. I doubt he hopes that Billy Davies is successful.

People who believe the way media spin quotes are silly. Of course he 'pranced around' spurring his team on. It's his job.

Presumably at the same press conference he also spoke fondly of supporting (as a child) and later playing for Forest. That doesn't go away.

A professional relationship with a club is totally different to our very personal ones.

If he had been offered the Forest job and turned it down for them, I would understand people hating him.

He didn't, so I don't. I wouldn't say I love him either. I don't have a problem with him getting some stick from our fans, so long as it isn't vitriolic and brainless, although I prefer the more dignified approach our fans seemed to take this evening.

Because at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. Let's just beat the bastards.

His dad always retained a soft spot for Derby, he lived in Derby, Derby and not Forest were the club who gave him a chance of League management... is it any wonder that he has embraced his new role? He might be our second highest goal scorer, but it's ridiculous to expect him to have the same daft sense of loyalty that most fans do.

Lee Camp is a Derby fan, he saved a penalty at PP to deny Derby 3 points. Does that make him a **** for betraying his team or just a professional doing his job?

Sorry mate but you are way way off of line.

Did we offer him the job and he said NO??????

He honours his work at Derby, whats wrong with that? He is a professional, thats what he is suppose to do anyway.

I am a Nigel Clough lover, the mate played 403 games with FOREST and scored 131 goals........who can match that?

Get over Clough, at this point we have nothing to do with him, we have our own manager, Billy Davies, so even if we like Clough we support Davies all the way.

Bottom line get over having a problem with Clough, we dont, you DO :p

When he scored for Liverpool did that make him unloyal? No
did you whinge at that? No
He was paid to do that.
Billy Davies use to jump up and down in front of the dugout at Prideless Park......but you're happy for him to be at Forest

Go back to the pub.........

The only important point about Nigel Clough NOW in 2009 is:

He is Derby's manager so I want him to fail.

Nigel Clough will always have history with Forest and we will always have fond memories of him playing here. Nothing will ever change that.

There are many many links uniting the two clubs and this, along with the likes of Billy Davies, Commons and Earnshaw will be replaced in the future with new ones. It's the way it is, the way it has been and the way it always will be.

I watched Nigel on TV last night and I saw a man doing his job.

His Forest days are safely locked away in my memory banks, for now I want him to fail, Derby to fail and him to be out of a job by Christmas.

Seeing him cheer Derby scoring against Forest disgusted me to be honest, all my fond memories of him - and my opinion of him as a legend - have gone out the window.

How could he. What next - Joining the Taliban and killing UK troops?

Cummon guys we all know the legend as it is foretold in the Great Book? So why worry?

And the Eternal One spoke unto Moses and sayeth, “Once my son Nigel hath most verily fuctup at Derby and hast caused them to suffer pestilence and relegation. (A job well done) He will thence sojourn in the wilderness of the lower league tribes, in the lands of the Spireites, Peterboroites and the Walsallites, wherst he willest hone his craft as a great leader of men.
And in the 7th month and on the 14th day of the month, some 7 years hence, he will return from the wilderness to lead his people Forest to the promised land of Champions League Glory.” Wherest they will crush the vile blasphemers of Oldest Trafford and the rich defilers that do fill their bellies on the Bridge of Stamford. Thus spake the Lord. Amen.
