Time to start resting and rotating players more

With West Brom beating Leicester I think we may as well admit we are not going to overhaul them

Got to be time to start resting players and getting the squad refreshed and ready for playoffs (we have given ourselves this opportunity and it is something our rivals do not have - it could give us an edge on them)

We have enough quality in depth to still get results and hold our own

And although momentum is nice you don't mind losing the odd game when you know you are holding your best players back

Step up Mcgugan, Tyson, Adebola, Mcleary, Boyd, Chambers, Garner, McGoldrick (maybe even Bennett and Lynch if they can)

Just managed to stop myself typing Smithlol

But then again we would miss Camp more than anybody if he were to get an injury before the playoffs ?

I agree. Were in the play-offs, doesnt matter if we finish 3rd or 6th now. But we have the advantage that we have the points tally to be able to do that. Leicester, Swansea, Cardiff and Blackpool, need to pick up the points. Could be an advantage to rest Dex, even perhaps Cohen, so that when it come to May 8th they refreshed and ready to go.

I think Billy will already be planning a few accomodating team selection changes only let's not become too comfortable and complacent.

There are 10 points separating 3rd and 7th place and Blackpool are more than competetant. We may be able to draw a couple of games but if we start dropping points at this stage then there will be some hungry teams who fancy their chances. A playoff place, although probable, is not yet guaranteed.

Having said that, the likes of Tyson, Chambers, McGoldrick etc are more than capable and I am keeping my diary well clear on the 8th, 11th, 12th and, of course, 22nd May. :)

Thing is it would need all four teams to have a great run to oust us - simply will not happen one or two of them may be capable of catching us but not all four

Cardiff v Swansea today - there goes valuable points for at least one of them

We really can coast it in from here - I actually prefer this scenario than fighting like mad for every point trying to catch West Brom and failing and all being knackered and deflated

Let's get fully refreshed and prepared and then give it 100% for three games come May

We need to keep suspensions in mind as well. Cohen, Blackstock, Gunter and Camp are irreplacable by anyone even close in ability and must be in the forefront of Billy's thinking in terms of nursing through to the playoffs. All will be much clearer after Monday.;)

Cohen and Raddy should be rested for sure, they are too near the 10 yellows to risk playing them and certainly for Cohen he needs a rest.

Gunter is also close to 10 yellows, so it might be worth Chambers at RB and Lynch at LB if he is fit, otherwise Perch at LB.

Midfield of McLeary, Moussi, McGugan and Boyd.

Tyson and McGoldrick up front.

Do it Billy, do not be shy :) LOL

That would be suicide...

Today's not the time to play that formation. We should only do that at home - maybe against Plymouth.

There's experimenting and resting, and then there's going mad.

I agree we need to rest and rotate going into the play offs but not as drastic as that, we still need to keep the momentum going, and need to pick some convincing wins up away from home.

Resting is essential but it breaks my heart that game after game where the main lads get a rest we're so close to getting the three points. If we'd had Dex and Earnie today.... and I know we never would have but it illustrates my point. Necessary, but no good for my soul.

noticed lynch was out with the squad today so looks like he could be involved to give a few a rest

I would almost play the players who need another booking, take an obvious one for time wasting and get the suspensions out of the way and give them a rest at the same time
