I've been visiting that site for years,, some great photos on there. Good to see some colour photos from days of old (main stand fire etc)

Funnily enough, I have Ken Smales' book on the table next to me right now.

Ken was secretary of Forest in the 70s & early 80s, and has written the definitive statistical record of NFFC...Forays is his picture website.

My dad was in the Main Stand when it burned down - I must get him to write a piece about the day, but he's something of a luddite where computers are concerned...

Wow, I've spent the last hour looking through the photos feeling nothing but pride.

It's amazing to me how the Trent end used to look. Some great photos there.

I spent ages looking through the pictures on that site.

Is there one on there of the actual fire?

When I looked last night, there was one picture that showed only as a red cross.

Yeah, there were about a dozen or so.

I've just seen the link actually.

I think I must have been looking too hard last night because I looked at every single page apart from that one!

Our first game back at the City Ground after the fire was on my birthday. Albeit 20 years before I was born!

Thinking about old stadiums being rebuilt, does anyone know what could be considered the first 'modern stadium'.

By that, I mean one that had four big stands, or joined in the corners, before all-seaters were introduced everywhere?
