Thornhill to Brighton.

6 Month loan.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Matt Thornhill has joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan.

The 20 year old will spend six months with the League One side at The Withdean Stadium.

The move is part of Forest's drive to give their up-and-coming players as much experience of first team action as possible.

Thornhill, a product of the club's Academy, made 28 appearances for The Reds last season, including 16 starts.

Glad to hear it... He will come back better for it and he still has a massive future with the club. I like what BD is doing in all areas.

Withdean, couldnt have picked a nicer stadium to play in ::) I like Thornhill, hopefully he will set league one on fire.

He'll do very well for them. Looked comfortable at Championship level last season so hopefully playing every week will make him reach his undoubtedly huge potential.

I just hope we've done our research and sent him to a team where he's likely to see a lot of first team action...

Sinclair's loan spells, for example, where he spent most of his time sitting on the subs bench undoubtedly hindered his progress at a crucial time in his career.

He started enough games for us last season, i'd be pretty confident that he will be a regular for brighton

Well, I have to admit, I don't know much about Brighton's squad...but if they had, for example, two players in central midfield who were rated as up and coming stars and Thornhill came in, then he'd play second fiddle to them as they are their own players and they'd be looking to maximise their potential ahead of him...

...which is what I meant by hope we've done our research.

I really rate Thornhill, I doubt there are any better in that league let alone brightons squad

This is exactly what he needs. He's already one the best passers of the ball at the club in my opinion, just needs bulking up. this will do him the world of good. :)

Thornhill's pretty talented. He's a bit like Cohen, but with a better eye for goal and getting to the edge of the box at the right time. Does need to toughen up and learn to tackle a bit more though.

I believe Russell Slade will prove to be the ideal manager for Matt, I do feel though that if the seagulls are doing well he will stay on loan till the end of the season. If they get promoted they may seek to make the move permanent. I personally hope not!

Sinclair was never going to cut it with us though where it is different with Thornhill.

Wears his heart on his sleeve and I really think he will become a very very good footballer ! I think the assist for Earnie vs man city summed up him perfectly ! I dont get this lightweight thing. He's a bruiser when he wants to be !

Thornhill is a gifted player and in a few years he will be a valuable player for us
