Just reading the Q.P.R programme and where the teams are it says in QPR number 31 is Ray Jones. Doe anyone know if its the one who died in that car accident in 2007 and is retired in memory of him or is it another Ray Jones? ???
 
I was having a beer with a QPR fan after the game and he said one of their players (I forget which one now) was dead, so I think your right.

Quite a surreal moment we were saying about how young our squad is and how we were happy with getting a point from the match and he points to the programme and says "Yeah well he's dead" like its a normal thing lol
 
Jones died, along with two others, in a car accident in East Ham, London in the early hours of 25 August 2007 when the vehicle he was travelling in collided with a bus. As a mark of respect QPR postponed their upcoming game with Burnley, who in turn replaced it with an open training session with proceeds going to the charity of QPR’s choice.QPR have also decided to retire the number 31 shirt in memory of Jones who wore the shirt during his time at Loftus Road.In their league game against Southampton on 1 September 2007 at Loftus Road all of the Queens Park Rangers players carried Ray Jones's name on the back of their shirts as a mark of respect.
