I'm surprised it's looking as good as it is.

All the extra Europa games plus all the women's games too.

At least we didn't trouble it with any FA or League cup games...

I was thinking of a pontoon bridge yesterday made from boats. I had't realised though that the Trent was so shallow around Trent Bridge - just under a metre to just short of 3 metres at it's deepest in normal flow.
I know that it's only a few feet deep around Clifton Bridge, but I never realised it (normally) can be as shallow as that around TB.

We might have to borrow some canoes or kayaks for the edges from the rowing club. ;)
Nah - the new Trent End made them all blow away

The planning portal says the determination deadline is today but I'm not sure if that's an auto-populated date (set number of weeks from submission).

This is the programme submitted with the application. Planning committee date (which would be the approval) targeted for mid-May, and then the Section 106 agreed by the end of June.

Love a good excel Gantt chart.

In all seriousness, it would.

The local government here absolutely do not piss about. The road that bisects the end of the street I live on has recently been skimmed, resurfaced and repainted, and is now designated as a „Fahrradstraße“, so a road where bicycles have priority.
On the other hand, how many years (and personal tears for me) has it taken to build the new A1 bridge over the Rhine (Lev to Koeln)? Makes HS2 look positively speedy. The grass [edit] is not always…..

That sunken boat from last year probably crashed into the bridge in the high river before Christmas, mind you it had already capsized so I’m not sure if that counts.

I do, but sometimes I read other posts and think that reminders would be helpful.

New stuff will be flagged as such, but right now (a) I can't say anything, and (b) there's nothing new to add ... yet.

Yes I am sure. It’s a form of therapy!

Is the term “birds” a problem? Probably it is increasingly so (e.g. I wouldn’t use it at work, but I would do with mates), but the females on the forum could add more perspective.
I’ve been called a lot lot worse 🤣

Personally, it doesn’t bother me but it is all about context. In this case, it’s totally harmless.

However, if used in a derogatory manner intended to offend, berate, trivialise or humiliate then probably wise to use a more neutral term or, even better, don’t post at all.

I presume you mean the women.
No defo meant birds, during the womens game there were pigeons on the pitch im assuming eating some seed whilst the game played on.

Was a bit surreal to see birds like that on the football pitch, like seagulls in the outfield at cricket when someone strokes the ball for a 4 flying off when the ball comes near.

The penalty areas looked especially bad.
