His pen might have knocked some fans pints out of their hands thoughThat was Graz.
When we got the penalty, our group warned people behind us not to throw their beer. Fortunately, MGW didn't deliver.

Wahoo. Over 10 years as a member and I've broken my duck Beardo. First time for everything. They're installing the safe standing seating.

I was gonna say Graz but then thought we didn't score in that game. That was Graz.

When I raised this issue my concern was that the lack of IT connectivity in the ground meant that those with diabetes could not receive immediate warnings on their mobiles. My brother and I who travel home and away to games always take something into the ground (jelly babies are a quick fix for low scores).I agree, but I think there could be a bit more care taken by the people as well - for example if I knew that I was prone to blood sugar drops and that I'd need something sugary if that happened, then I'd probably make attempts to make sure most of the time I either did, or wasn't far away from somewhere where I could get something. I understand that venues often have policies preventing entering with certain items, and that the football is one thing (do they still give you bottles without the caps?) but even that's their own internal decision and since they know who everyone entering the ground is, they could allow people with say T1D an exception to come in with a bottle of cola or some chocolates or something similar knowing that in the event something like that happened they wouldn't need to either queue up for something which could cause their condition to get more critical, I think most people would understand this really.
I have found the Libra2 meters are better now and tend to not drop signal as much as the older ones did. When I raised this issue my concern was that the lack of IT connectivity in the ground meant that those with diabetes could not receive immediate warnings on their mobiles. Whilst I agree with your comments about taking items into the ground, the biggest issue is that we lose the ability to monitor our blood sugar levels inside most PL grounds. Furthermore most people with diabetes often suffer from other serious health issues which can be triggered by low (or high) blood sugar levels.
Clubs must be aware of this problem but chose to do nothing about it.
I thought those monitors connected to your phone via bluetooth rather than sending information via the cellular network? Although, not being a sufferer it's not something I've ever looked into. When I raised this issue my concern was that the lack of IT connectivity in the ground meant that those with diabetes could not receive immediate warnings on their mobiles. Yes I can confirm I am no longer able to get 3G. O2 are always slower to turn off these things, but like ntlworld email addresses, it's now kaput.3G is switched off in the UK
This from Ofcom last month:
"3G mobile networks are now switched off. The 2G mobile networks are gradually being switched off over the next few years. Here’s what this means for you as a customer.
The UK’s mobile services currently use three different ‘generations’ of mobile technology: 2G, 4G and 5G.
Mobile providers are preparing to switch off their 2G networks, and this will affect customers on those networks using older mobile devices and services. If you have a 4G or 5G mobile device or service, this change is unlikely to affect you and may only require a software or settings update."

Got to be honest im more in favor of phone jammers than giving people internet to make there annoying vlogs just have the scores running on those new fancy/annoying panels thats all people need surleyAbsolutely racks my brain that we haven't provisioned public WiFi yet at the ground. Surely not a massive outlay for something that would benefit everyone. Did it come up in the planning documents?
I remember many moons ago, possibly the Frank Clark promotion season they flashed up a latest score that a rival was losing (I think it was Leicester) and Stuart Pearce went mad about it after the game as he saw it as a massive distraction. I'm not sure if times have changed or not on that one.Got to be honest im more in favor of phone jammers than giving people internet to make there annoying vlogs just have the scores running on those new fancy/annoying panels thats all people need surley
Who remembers when we sent wednesday down at Hillsborough and there old scoreboard where they put the numbers on pegs along the side of the pitch put the score of another game up wrong and they thought they had stayed upI remember many moons ago, possibly the Frank Clark promotion season they flashed up a latest score that a rival was losing (I think it was Leicester) and Stuart Pearce went mad about it after the game as he saw it as a massive distraction. Yes, it was 89/90. They put up that Luton were losing at the Sheep and I remember that their fans started celebrating. We couldn't work out why Big Ron had his head in his hands at the end until we got back to the coach to discover Kingsley Black had scored the winner for Luton. Just you bloody wait, until I perfect the design of my time-machine.Sadly we couldn’t beat Tottenham at Wembley.
My old man used to do do the half time scores at Chesterifiked when he was a youth team player back in the day and put somebody 7-0 Mansfield on at HT and everyone cheered. It was of course wrong and he was given a good old bollocking from the Youth Team manager and taken off side duty.I remember many moons ago, possibly the Frank Clark promotion season they flashed up a latest score that a rival was losing (I think it was Leicester) and Stuart Pearce went mad about it after the game as he saw it as a massive distraction. I bet he never had to buy a drink in Chesterfield for a very, very, long time.My old man used to do do the half time scores at Chesterifiked when he was a youth team player back in the day and put somebody 7-0 Mansfield on at HT and everyone cheered. We could always get tickets during the away fans ban through friends of my father. The Luton fans were always friendly and glad to see us as they hated the ban as much as everyone else.Yes-the game at Luton was when they had banned away fans but we got in anyway to witness as dismal 1-0 defeat.
The banner read something like ‘you kept us up now go and win the cup’.
We played Southampton at the City Ground the following Monday in a 5th Round replay and won 3-1 with Nigel Jemson scoring a hat-trick.
Sadly we couldn’t beat Tottenham at Wembley.
An unknown Luton supporter got me in at the turnstile and I got the impression he didn’t like the away ban either. We could always get tickets during the away fans ban through friends of my father. The Luton fans were always friendly and glad to see us as they hated the ban as much as everyone else.
Have you tried it recently? Despite being told two years ago it was being turned off imminently, and having changed it on as many accounts as I could remember, it seems to have finally been terminated last month as I started getting notifications from the ones I forgot that they couldn't contact me, or send me crap.Pfft. Still got my ntlworld address.
