Up until the point where they win their first corner.Dare i say the table is perfectly set for us to go to Goodison and actually believe that we can turn these over

I genuinely don't see how a 6 - 0 defeat can do anything other than demoralise a team. If they need a hiding like that to get them fired up then something's badly wrong. Their confidence has to be low, we need to get the first goal, and as early in the match as possible too.It may fire Everton up for the weekend but it could also deflate them. They looked totally abject tonight. We will create chances against them and we have to go into the game with positivity.
Straight for the throat from the first whistle.I genuinely don't see how a 6 - 0 defeat can do anything other than demoralise a team. yeah, 2 impotent old men yapping a lot but not a lot of action involved. It’s going to be like watching two bald men fighting over a comb.
It’s going to be like watching two bald men fighting over some points.

Fortunately for Everton, they next play Nottingham Forest, the gift that never stops giving!Nah I don't get it either.
I played football to a reasonably competitive standard and getting spanked like that never helped. Two scenarios usually happened:
1) The coaches tried to play down the scale of the defeat (ala Cooper, "don't get too high when we win, don't get too low when we lose") which can help mean recovering from setbacks somewhat if the mantra is drilled into you from the offset but can also cause an acceptance of mediocrity with some players. But you never got this huge reaction to a bad loss because that wasn't the principle.
2) The coaches laid into you/the team and whilst it may have elicited some sort of fighting response from some, it did the opposite for others and then impacted on the togetherness of the team because of how the different personalities received that feedback. Usually a week later the fighting response had waned a bit and you're still left with the underlying confidence issue but with a fragmented team.
Personally if my team got spanked then in the following game I was less confident, less willing to take risks, more panicked on the ball and (possibly the major reason why I didn't go any further in the game) less committed, less caring about winning.
I remember when Bournemouth had 9 goals stuck past them by Liverpool last season.Fortunately for Everton, they next play Nottingham Forest, the gift that never stops giving!
They changed managers in between the two matches.I remember when Bournemouth had 9 goals stuck past them by Liverpool last season.
I also remember Forest playing Bournemouth at the City Ground not long after.
Oh aye...They changed managers in between the two matches.
2-0 up at half time, it should have been! That second half was as bad as anything I've seen in the last two seasons.Oh aye...
But folk still expected it to be a walk in the park.
I think Luton will probably get 4-6 points from their remaining games. I'd be amazed if they get 9 points, though stranger things have happened.Don’t know where Luton fans get their confidence from thinking they can get 9pts from 5 games when they have just played 10 games and won 5pts from them. 7pts will be enough for us. Beat Everton, Sheffield United.
Brentford just got a draw against Villa away and won on Saturday
Wolves are really tough to beat at Molineux
Everton are Everton
West Ham still be fighting for Europe
Fulham are actually a really good team.
Got to turn one Good half performances into a good full gameI think Luton will probably get 4-6 points from their remaining games. I'd be amazed if they get 9 points, though stranger things have happened.
We are going to need to see a big improvement away from home if we are to stay up. 6 more points will be enough I reckon, but whether or not we can achieve that is anyone's guess.
And the 10 extra time minutes.Got to turn one Good half performances into a good full game
That just seems like life for teams outside the top six or so in the Premier League. Very few teams can expect to just turn up and win. And even then they often come unstuck. And the 10 extra time minutes.
This team needs at least 7 to 8 players to have a 7+ game to stand any chance of a win.
