Watching the highlights of Brighton Leeds and it's clear that Farke is still an adherent of this play it out from the back nonsense, it was so easy for Brighton to sit on the Leeds players and just harass them and steal it - we need to apply pressure with persistence and energy and the chances will come.

The win against Leeds, assuming it happens, will not lift us out of the bottom 3.
It might not even lift us out of the bottom 2.
With West Ham playing at home against Burnley next Saturday, Nuno's lot could move out of the bottom 3 on goal difference.
Burnley are on -7, and West Ham are on -11.
A 3 goal winning margin for the Hammers will do it, and with 2 wins on the bounce Nuno will be already taking West Ham away from immediate danger and restoring confidence.
Hopefully a draw will be the outcome of that one.
Being stuck in the bottom 3 is a real kedge-anchor for any team once a gap in points opens up.
The team know that even if they play their best and win, they are still in the bottom 3... it drags on the spirits.
Maybe Sean should get you in to give them a pep-talk. No doubt their spirits would soar 😆

Every chance you'll be three points behind us by the end of next weekend. The league is ridiculously tight, literally anyone from Brighton down could get dragged into it if injuries stack up/results go awry. Sunderland too even though they've started excellently.

In the Athletic under the heading How True is the Premier League Table:
“What with little old Bournemouth in fourth, the aforementioned Spurs in fifth but not happy about how they got there and Forest in 18th but pretty happy and optimistic about their future under Sean Dyche, it’s all a bit lopsided.”
I think if we can just close this gap between the bottom 3 and the rest we'll probably see a quick rise.

There's only 7 points separating Burnley in 17th and Spurs in 5th at the moment. It's only really Arsenal at one end and unfortunately us, Wolves and West Ham at the other end where there's any kind of gap forming.

North east Derby will be interesting this year. Bet you can’t wait.

That 7 point gap says it all really, so much can change outside of the top 4-6 clubs in the coming month or two and I believe it will.

As long as we can get some players back from injury, the points will come and we will be out of the bottom 3 at Christmas. Let's face it, the second half of the season has to be better, so we just need to stay in touch really.

We can lose against Leeds and still be absolutely fine.
There's 28 matches left. 84 points to play for.

No individual game is decisive here. We need to build ourselves up and go on a run of some kind. I would wager our best bet is to settle in to a good, long run of home results. Get the WFCG going again and make it our fortress.

Our next five league games are:

Leeds (H)
Liverpool (A)
Brighton (H)
Wolves (A)
Everton (A)

I think six points minimum are needed from that lot, with nine being a more comfortable goal. That would put us on 15 points from 15 games.

Followed by-

Tottenham (H)
Fulham (A)
Manchester City (H)
Everton (H)

I reckon we need 12 points (W3 D3 L3) from the next 9 games to have a decent chance of being out of the bottom 3 at the halfway mark.

I think that might be the minimum requirement as we face Aston Villa (A),West Ham (A) and Arsenal (H) immediately
after this.

We need to repeat the second half showing against Manchester United on a regular basis if we are to climb
out of trouble or face a season long relegation struggle or worse still a return to the Championship.

Long Throw Specialist.
Couple of seasons ago Everton seemed a cert for a relegation place, deducted points and a fan base that was toxic. SD got them going on a run towards the end of the season and they comfortably finished above us and sitting pretty. The Boss has the know how; have faith.

Have a bit of confidence, we are clearly winning all 9.

I know it is all small sample sizes.

Sean Dyche
Bournemouth XG per shot - 0.044
Man United XG per shot - 0.062
+ Porto game XG per shot - 0.06

Postecoglou
Chelsea XG per shot - 0.093
Newcastle XG per shot - 019
Sunderland XG per shot - 0.15
Burnley XG per shot - 0.071
Arsenal XG per shot

Nuno
West Ham XG per shot - 0.20
Crystal Palace XG per shot - 0.138
Brentford XG per shot - 0.149

In Three games Dyche has Forest conceding lower quality shots. This is what we were good at last season and we are starting to hit them levels again

If we lose against Leeds there will be fan meltdown. West Ham are playing Burnley on sat.

An I the only one laughing at Forest being in the relegation battle? Still can't see it after 10 games. I will bet my house on a comfortable mid table if slightly higher finish and it will be comfortable - no end of season jitters

I think there are several very important parts of the game we need to improve before midtable is predicted nevermind higher than that.
