I can't see Sunderland going down from here, notwithstanding them inevitably going on a bad run at some point
Didn't Hull do really well in the first part of a season when they went up and then end up relegated? It has happened.

Not sure, I don't think they were ever as high as 7th after ten games, happy to be proven wrong though

Can’t believe Sunderland will go down- I’ve said before the signing of Xhaka was inspired. In fact the signing of the summer imo - wish we’d bought him to sit in front of our back 4 🤷🏻‍♂️

You could even make the argument Bournemouth have had a fairly soft start. Their wins so far have come against Wolves (H), Tottenham (A), Brighton (H), Fulham (H), and Forest (H). Draws against Leeds, Newcastle and Palace. There’s only really away at Spurs there that’s that impressive.

Nothing impressive about beating Tottenham! Fans of theirs I speak to, say that they're playing terribly and will not be finishing above mid table!
They had just 3 shots at home to Chelsea, (Forest managed 12) and XG of 0.05...

It could be a needing 40pts to stay up season, Sunderland could well still be in relegation mix.

Forest need to really.Leeds, and at least not lose; as them and Burnley and Wolves - be 3 likeliest to go down; with West Ham and ourselves probly be in the mix going into end April / May!

Take a look at Leeds and West Ham’s forthcoming fixtures, they are nightmarish.

I am willing to bet that a couple of teams who currently feel very relaxed will go about 6-7 games without a win and end up in the shit.

In other words, I ain’t panicking yet. The table will only take shape at Christmas, and then injuries and AFCON will bite many.

They stayed up that season by the skin of their teeth and went down the following, I see to recall. Haven't checked.

I'm confident we can get out of this mess but it definitely feels different than our first two seasons back up. Nuno will get West Ham firing, he's too good of a manager to not and i wouldn't be surprised if they go on a run now after todays result.

Even Wolves, who always seem to pull a rabbit out of the hat every single season by having an awful start and somehow pull away and finish in cosy comforts of 12th-15th - granted, this year they really do look doomed but its just that "*uck me its feeling grim" that i can't shake.

A win next week definitely soothes that, as pointed out already i hope to see not a single player planned for Leeds playing in Graz on Thursday, and i'm sure Dychey will make sweeping changes for it. A couple of wins and the narrative changes completely

(I cannot believe i'm posting in this thread in November feeling like this, especially after the heights of last season - thats the club i know and love)

Yeah I've just checked, it was the 2008-09 season

They were 6th after 18 games when there form fell off a cliff and they won just one game the rest of the season, finishing 17th

I'm still here Crewton
I think their great start will ensure they avoid a dogfight.
I think they've looked pretty good Norman but it's still very early.
Blackpool started well the season they were in the Prem, they were 8th at Christmas and only 9th by mid Jan but still got relegated.

Nottingham's dirty secret
I think we might be alright with Dyche as manager. As long as we sort set pieces out.

I have a suspicion that things will continue to go down hill until we get rid of the poser in a suit. AKA Edu. The rot started with his appointment & he's a wrong un. Summer recruitment was shit. Get rid now.

I genuinely don't understand what Edu has done to warrant calls for him to be sacked? Really I don't. If anyone has a convincing argument as to how his appointment has been to the detriment of Forest I'd love to hear it

And I don't just mean aligning his arrival to our drop in form which is almost certainly coincidence
I'd also like to hear a convincing argument, with actual facts.

I’m not sure the summer recruitment (albeit late) was s**t,Bob-but I can’t be convinced the appointment of Edu was good for Forest.

I’m afraid he’s in the dock (amongst others) who have played a part in Forest’s demise.

I agree-get rid.

It’s possibly not a coincidence that Arsenal have burst into life since he left.

The less suits the better for me.

Sorry perhaps I should have been clearer, I'd like evidence that appointing Edu has been detrimental to Nottingham Forest

I couldn't give a shit what was or is not now happening at Arsenal whilst he was there

The issue with Edu and any other suits at the club is that we really have no idea what they do. There's about 6 involved in recruitment for starters and even then it seems like our targets can change depending on which agent we like on a particular day.

It's easy to look at the chaos and bad results this season and link it to Edu but I think it's too simplistic to say that just one person is responsible for the mess. It could be a whole variety of things that we'll probably never even know about, and even when snippets are leaked they're from a source within the club pushing an agenda.

Let's not forget as well that Edu is not just responsible for Forest and in theory should be dividing his attention at least 3 ways.

Have you reviewed the league table recently?

I happen to believe his fallout with Nuno has played a significant part in our current sorry state.

No evidence (obviously no one can provide it) but just a strong feeling I’ve got.

They haven't though, thats a myth, their season is going exactly the same as it has the last few years.

Just because others are falling behind, doesn't mean Arsenal are doing better.

Funnily enough the stick to beat Edu with for Arsenal is not signing a striker, but it's their defence which has conceded one goal in open play which has made the difference.

Why is us fans not knowing what his role is or what he does in any way an issue?

I have no idea how what people at MI6 are employed to do in all honesty but I'm not asking for them to be sacked
The issue is wanting people sacked or questioning their day to day roles when we have no idea what they involve. This isnt directed at you personally by the way even though it was your post I quoted.

With players and managers we can have a reasonably informed opinion of their performance because we see it week in week out. But behind the scenes who knows so I'll trust the judgement of a multi billionaire who has spent his working life employing people to run businesses for him.
