The Premiership

Can people please stop talking about it! All I read on here is "who will be good enough for the prem" or "what players should we sign in the prem". We are one point above West Brom and It's only January!!!!

We have had a fantastic run and I am very optimistic about the future but some of the arrogance being displayed on here is tempting fate like a muth-****a. The reason it bugs me so much is that many of the very same people will start moaning again if we lose a few games and drop down the table.

The play-offs would be a wonderful acheivement this season and anything else = a massive bonus.

Cue the "shut up you miserable bastard" posts.

Aaaah, the Premiership. Where the press seem to think there are only 4 teams in it.

A load of over-paid nancy boys who care more for looking at themselves in the wing mirrors of their flash cars and falling over than playing football.

After being away from it so long, talking about it is like being there.

It's called planning for the future.

One reason why Derby were so crap was that they weren't prepared

How are WE planning for the future? That is the club's job. Speculation, etc. are part and parcel but too many people are talking like its a forgone conclusion.

I've not seen anyone talking about like it is a foregone conclusion. However we do have an excellent chance of going up and we have every right to be excited at that prospect.

Let's face it, we have nothing else to be excited at in the last few years so we should enjoy this run as much as possible!

I think we need to start looking beyond the premier league to the inevitable european super league and eventually to the world mega league.

In response to all of these posts:

I am not saying people can't dream or be excited about our position but there have been a lot of threads where people are saying such things as:

"Tyson won't be good enough when we are in the Prem", "We have outgrown players like Cohen", etc. It's all bullshit as we are a still a CCC club and until that changes comments such as these I can do without.

It's arrogant and misplaced and it gives other fans lots of ammo to shoot us down with, should we fail.

It would be naive to thin k we will not encounter some injuries to key players at some point or suffer some slump in form. I am refusing to think too optimistically due to Sheff Utd '03 and Yeovil '07 still fresh in my memory.

I think Famous is right.

People are allowing themselves to dream of the Premiership, which is perfectly fine in itself, but occasionally you meet the odd moron who actually believes that, come May, we will be there, seemingly in spite of anything that happens after January.

Let's enjoy our form, let's enjoy the performances and results, but let's not go mental over it and start writing off current squad players for next seasons supposedly inevitable season back in the Premiership.

i just hope we will continue to behind the team if we lose a couple of games, and not start moaning about missing out on promotion..remember where we were last season, and how far we have come,in a short space of time, and enjoy whats happening at the moment ;D

If we end up in the play-offs there is no way we will capitulate like we did in 03 and 07, Davies is too tactically aware for anything like that to happen again.
