Billy Davies has told his Nottingham Forest players to prepare for three months of 'muck and nettles' football.

Is it me, or taking this, with the D*rby defeat, and the manner of our last win, have we got a situation where Davies has learned a lesson? Did Clough inadvertantly show us how to win automatic promotion? By being able to scrap where needed for 3 points. The timing just seems funny.

Maybe there are other factors like losing Shorey. Maybe we always could scrap (I wasn't there, but Sheffield Utd away might have been an example?).

Anyway, muck and nettles it is, nice phrase Billy! The Forest squad should run the Tough Guy as training! http://www.toughguy.co.uk/

It is reality checks like this that proves Billy Davies is the best manager we've had since the great man.

Some will say Frank Clarke, but he had the tools, the money and the timing.

Billy has a much harder job to do, and is now about to prove his worth.

The Sheffield Utd match was horrible. Pretty sure we didn't start Raddy that game. I take that as I think Billy was expecting a scrap and it's exactly what we got. All in all, it was a good point away from home and that's all it was. Emphasis certainly on getting something out of the game rather than the performance itself. I know how i'd rather see us play but if inbetween now and the end of the season we have to scrap and get our hands dirty so to speak, then so be it if we achieve promotion.

we didnt start raddy kez! he came on after about 65 minutes if i remember correctly!

but yes a poor performance, but a good one from a point of view that we can get points during scrappy games, with the performance at Utd!

I fear more of the same might be in order for the rest of the season.

The balance of the squad is somewhat jaded now we don't have a 'proper' left back. I'm all for Cohen being put there as a short term solution but I think we'll miss his work rate in the midfield. He keeps us ticking.

I'd expect to see a lot more physical sort of team from now until the end of the season. Especially away from home. Let's hope we can re-group on Saturday. You up for Donny or you still struggling mate? I'm severely tempted... for my sins, even though i'm what is technically known as potless :)
