The Official Nottingham Forest Loan Signings Thread

The loan market seems more relevant to us Forest fans in January so I thought we could have a thread for it  Post all the rumours you have heard no matter how realistic or pure bullshit :)

Someone somewhere said that any loan signings wouldn't give 100% in games because they would not be committed to the club.

But, if these players came with the knowledge that if they fit in and play well then they might be looking towards a permanent contract at the end of the season.

Similar scenario's - Raddy - Blackstock - Camp - Gunter....................Four of the best loan signings that I ever remember coming to the club - so here's hoping Raddy signs for us permanently in the summer too.

The loan window will go down as well as the january transfer window.

You know what, you're right. We never sign anyone on loan.

And if we do, they're shite. Chris Gunter, Isiah Osbourne, Dexter Blackstock, Lee Camp, Nicky Shorey. What a load of rubbish.

Yeah! Couldn't agree more! B****y Transfer Panel, etc! Not.

The "loan" signings kept us up last year, who is to say we won't bring in some real quality again in the next month?

In another thread someone mentioned J'Lloyd Samuel - he'd be very decent.

I'll ask him next wednesday, I'm having a photoshoot with him and Joleon Lescott.

Lescott could do a job at left back as well. Ask him too.

Am I right in thinking that if we sign anyone on loan they won't be able to play in the play-offs?

I think last time we were in the play offs against Yeovil, Alan Wright was on loan and we had to ask permission for him to play

You ever noticed that we only signed when we are in dire straits and were in desperately in need of players ? About 3 weeks after the loan window opened ?

As long at the very least we get a young premiership left back on loan from I wont be too bothered.

At least we didn't lose any players in the January window

Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal? Talented left back and has been told he needs first team football if he wants an international career with England.

Good player but out for the season with a broken metatarsal sadly.

It's all about timing though - the maximum length of a loan is 93 days, so - for example - if we brought a player in now, then - possibly - we wouldn't have them for all the playoffs.

If we wait 2-3 weeks, then any player we loan in should still be available for any possible playoff games.

He'd have been an outside shout for the World Cup in my mind, if he hadn't got crocked. Shame.

We are talking about last season here , i think at the time , the playoffs would be the last thing on our minds. We delayed signing anyone on loan until we started faltering and sliding down the tables when we are in 21st position and in dire straits.

Isaiah Osbourne came on 2nd March
Gary McSheffrey 5th March
Chris Gunter 12th March
Iain Turner 19th March
Dexter Blackstock 26th March

Of course , now that we are in a good position for playoffs , we have to wait for a few weeks to maximise this 93 days rule but you have to ask why couldn't we have done the loans in the normal transfer window rather than until last minute where options will be limited.

Are you calling our current position dire straits? :)
