To be honest, if we're going to waste £1m on a goalkeeper I think I'd prefer Doyle to Camp.

Doyle was good when he was here and I'd be happy with him coming back if we're going to replace Smithy.

Chaps.

Everyone is agreeing.

Forum rule 136 (a) subsection iii -

'No one under any circumstances, is permitted to agree on the relative merits of goalkeepers'

We're in trouble......

Daily Star reckon we've made a £1.5m bid for Ched Evans.

Would be a fantastic signing if it happened.

Agreed, he would dominate at this level - and has done during loan spells in the past.

Could he be tempted to drop down? I'm not sure.

The possible strike force of Earnie, Evans, Blackstock, Garner and Tyson would have defenders crying themselves to sleep for the season ahead. If we stay up. And sign them.

Earnshaw, Blackstock, Evans, Garner and Tyson would be one of the best (if not the best) strikeforce in this league. Would be fantastic if we managed to get Evans, but the question is who would be your first choice strike partnership out of that group of players?

Well, if Anderson is going back to Liverpool at the end of the season, we only have one natural winger in the squad (McCleary), so Tyson could probably play left wing..?!
It's also kind of obvious that Billy doesn't see Garner as a finished product yet, so in a 442 I still think that Blackstock and Earnshaw would be the best option.
It would be awesome to see us play against weaker opposition with a 3 man strikeforce of Earnshaw, Blackstock and Evans though. It would tear them apart :) But I guess we need to sort out some defensive issues before we go there! ;)

The Sun reckons we've offered QPR £1.5m for Dexter, but only if we stay up.

It also says that they might want him to go back for next season.

They'd be stupid not to want him back. I personally am scared that someone will swoop for Earnshaw maybe someone like Hull if they stay up, we will have a tough time keeping him I reckon. But I chat shite.

Good point, but also Earnie is a professional and has a contract to see out with us. He has also expressed his desire to do well and help take the club forward, which I know often means nothing, but we'll have to see. I doubt we would take less than £4m for him to be honest, considering what we paid and then what we'd need to buy a couple of strikers of similar quality.

We stay up, I am confident we will see Earnie in the garibaldi next season as well as Blackstock.

I thought we had paid QPR 200k for DB, with a further £2m and it being permanant if we stay up?
did I read that or just dream it?

I heard £350k with a further £1.5m...! Either way, I'm sure the total price will be around the £2m mark

Doyle ahead of Camp is the biggest load of sh*t I've ever heard. Surely motivated out of some kind of misguided loyalty to Smithy...

How is that showing any loyalty to Smith?

Camp is an atrocious keeper who saved a few penalties and all of a sudden everyone treated him like a god.

I don't think Camp or Doyle are the answer. All I can really remember of Doyle was the goal he let in (here we go) against Spurs in the cup.
