CHEATING BASTARDS!
Giving Reading the ball back immediately, but not us until the end when it suited!

I'm sure that both Managers have to agree before the game if the multiball is to be played. Billy didn't seem to be too happy about it.

I know Megson liked it and it does speed up the game. Doesn't always work in our favour though.

What is this multi ball bollocks then ?

Basically, the ball boys appeared to be well disciplined when it came to giving the ball to Reading advantageously, and disciplined in putting Forest off their stride by not doing so.

It its own minor way, cheating.

but did we not do the same under Megson??

I seem to remember we were banned from using it by the FA for abuses to football!

Correct on both counts!

Mind you the "abuse to football " was more Megson than Multiball!! :D

Incorrect, we received one complaint and Megson said, fine, scrap it.

The ball boys were crap today at Reading. Never mind though. Chambers, Lynch, and Smith on occassions had 2 balls on the pitch.
Bloody hell, he'll drop both of them

Correct. If I remember correctly he went on to say that Forest would leave it to the crowd to throw it back and the FA could then like it or lump it! :D

'Oh and a final, inevitable word for Billy Davies and his coaching staff. Kicking balls onto the field, telling your goalkeeper to take the ball to the other side of the 6yardbox, telling players to go down injured. Cheats. Not an excuse for us losing, but so so frustrating.'

Finally! A streetwise manager prepared to use the same ideas that have so frustrated us in the not too distant past!

i liked this bit..

And Earnshaw should already have received a yellow for repeatedly running across to block AUS' attempted quick clearances

Since when has that been a foul, it's the strikers job to try and put the keeper off isn't it?

Even if we were timewasting. Which we may have been slightly.

The Referee made the correct decision to put 5 minutes on the board. Yet they still couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo.

We'll come of this recession before reading score again. Wes had Doyle in his pocket today.

The Reading fans were peculiarly obsessed with time taken over throw-ins - some of them were having a go at Chambers or Lynch as soon as the ball had gone out!

It really didn't take anybody any longer than normal!

I remember about a year ago watching a feature on SSN with John Ryan (Donny Chairman) discussing the multi ball system.

He said it exactly as it was demonstrated today as the home side the ball is returned to a pace that will them. There is no equality in it. And it was so blatant today it was unbelievable.
