The Mood

Speaking of which, I never got yesterday's emailed.
That seems to happen occasionally for no obvious reason. A quick email should sort it out - not sure exactly who to (when it happened to me last season it helped that I know the editor!) but any contact you have as a member and/or SC holder would be a starting point. Otherwise if you can wait, see if you get your copy of the Coventry programme and you should find each of the other previous editions is shown as an attachment at the end of the covering email.

We are currently flying "under the radar" - reports are all about Villa's defeat and very little about Forest's win...

And that, Boys and Girls , suits me fine... !!!!..

Onwards

My mood has been lifted and any worries we may have a shocker of a season have been aliviated. I didnt think wed be in trouble but every game that goes by you dont win you naturally begin to worry.

If we beat Coventry and are top half before the internationals I will be in an estatic mood.

Emmo’s mood has been lifted everyone. It’s safe to come out again.

Cautiously optimistic - City and Arsenal are gonna fight it out for top spot, Chelsea will be alright while the likes of Brighton, Leeds & even Brentford look solid.

We're looking like we'll be in that bracket too and a top 8 finish is eminently possible given that everyone else (but Coventry) look like basket cases at the moment. With Ipswich and Hull doing a good job of getting points early doors there's real danger for some established clubs and big names. Just looking at the performances of Spurs, Villa, Newcastle and especially Man Utd they could rapidly be pulled down into a relegation fight if they don't develop some consistency and resilience soon.

Add in to that the effects of the European midweek games on the likes of Man Utd, Sunderland, Palace, Bournemouth, Villa and a very unpredictable Liverpool and its gonna be a crazy season that we can take advantage of I reckon with EM likely to find some funds in January if a Euro push is possible.

I think it's too early to think about a top 10 finish, 11th-15th will do for me and a good cup run as I've said. If we smash Cov I may reevaluate but if we lose to them i'm not coming on here for a week as it will be meltdown time again. Let them figure it out and hopefully get better through the season

Games like Coventry at home won't really dictate whether we're in that 11-15th comfortable bracket. It's the home games against Everton, Brentford, Bournemouth, Leeds (unfortunately) and so on that will.

That's where we we were so good under Nuno, that 7th season we beat Brentford, Everton, Brighton, West Ham, Villa and Palace and were absolutely ruthless against the three teams that went down.

Chuffed OG seems to have his system running smoothly so quickly.

8th - 12th appears perfectly doable right now. See how we are in December.
I admire your optimistic take!
Don't change :)
The system is still stuttering along and a couple of key injuries will put a big strain on its progress.
I think anything above 18th will be a decent outcome...

Five years ago today was Chris Hughton's final game in charge, a 2-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough.

What an incredible time it's been since that day. Amazing how much has happened since then.
Yes-if someone had predicted on that dismal night that 5 years later we would be embarking on our 5th consecutive season in the Premier League then the men in white coats would have been very busy.

Mid-September every year is the time when we can reflect on all the amazing stuff that's happened since. Feels more like 15 years than 5, tbh.

Five years was also the "gap" in events in Avengers:Endgame, although I think that movie was more believable than what has happened to Forest in the same time-period.

Read online today that it is being reported Chris wood wants a transfer away as he doesn't want to be just a bench warmer at this stage of his career.
I don't know how reliable the source was, but it took some of the upturn in my mood away a bit.

If true, it says everything about CW's professionalism and attitude. We can't let him go unless we get a replacement in, in January.

Well, he doesn’t really have much choice but to make the best of it until the next transfer window. He’s part of the leadership group and a good pro, so I’m sure he’ll knuckle down and make the most of whatever minutes he gets, as that’s the best way to get the best possible move for himself when he can.
I don’t necessarily see the negative, but would if he was a different character.
