He said in his statement on Sydney's website he wants to continue playing in Australia. I assume his injuries meant Sydney decided not to extend him otherwise you'd assume he would have just stayed playing there if he wants to stay playing in Aus.

His condition isn't going to get any better though, it's already past the point of anything but management and even that's not going to work which is probably one reason why ha ended up finishing here. Basically the muscle is way too big for the area it's in and there's not a lot which can be done apart from actually removing some of the muscle.
