Just got home (I managed to get a ticket in the Palace end at 11 o'clock this morning) and wanted to post this immediately:

Surely even the most ardent Paul Smith fans must now accept that he is resolutely second choice behind Lee Camp, who was magnificent again today.

The myth that Smith is a better shot stopper was exposed as a joke today; Camp made three wondrous stops.

He was clearly man of the match, a superb performance. Well done Lee, now let's put this silly bun fight to bed once and for all.

The debate was never a serious one. Forest look about 1,000 times stronger with Camp in net and although they might be similar in terms of actual ability, in terms of being a top keeper on the pitch Camp is miles ahead.

Just look at the Newcastle game, only 1-0 up for ages but I for one wasn't nearly as nervous as I would have been last year. He comes out with confidence, he shouts his bollocks off and he generally digs deep when he needs to. Smith sadly has never 'stepped up' like this and that's why it was vital we go another keeper in.

Like someone said though, it's great to finally have any real back up especially someone of Smith's quality.

What a ridiculous comment.

You seem to be forgetting Yeovil in the play-offs?

Or against Sheff United last season away?

Agreed, except of course that Smith is the better keeper.

Providing we keep getting 16 points from 18, I honestly couldn't give a toss who's better :)

I agree with this. Camp is a quality keeper and Smith is a very good back-up keeper incase Campy gets injured.

So did the Forest end sell out? & what did you do when both goals were scored?

No wonder my post count..

It looked like we had a good number of fans there, couldn't tell you if we sold out or not, though.

Everyone around me knew I was a Forest fan as I went with a few old mates from Croydon (used to live there) who have season tickets and they let everyone know there was a Forest fan in their midst as soon as we got there.

I didn't really go too crazy, except when Hill clotheslined Ando, but in fairness all of their fans who were sat around me seemed to be expecting a red card too.

I like their fans, actually. They'll never win any awards for passion, but they were pretty cool with me.

Exactly. Billy Davies knew that he needed a better keeper when he came to the club, which is why he signed Camp.

Spot on Em Jay.

Camp has made the position his own. It doesn't matter who is in goal if we keep racking up the points.

The debate was over as soon as Camp came to the club. 8)

Unless you're blind or know nothing about the game whatsoever, of course. 8)

Go to the Watford match, did we ?

Hold on while I just stand here and watch the ball go in.

Camp certainly is improving, though, he actually dived for a couple of shots earlier this week !
