The Genius of Brian Clough

Brian Clough was one of the most influential and charismatic football managers ever to grace the English game, and with the big-screen film, 'The Damned United' due for release, ESPN Classic has dedicated a whole week to 'Old Big Head' to remind sports fans of his monumental achievements every weeknight, 23rd - 29th March, from 8:10pm exclusively on Sky Channel 442.

In a managerial career that spanned nearly 30 years, Clough will long be remembered as English football's most abrasive and divisive figure; a fascinating character who split the opinion of fans around the country. Considered by many to be the best English manager never to manage the England national team, the power of Clough's distinctive personality is explored in depth during this special week on Sky Channel 442.

To accompany match highlights of Cloughie's most remembered games in charge of Derby County, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, a special programme - The Life of Brian - has been produced which charts his football career through match footage and rarely-screened conversations and interviews from the archives of both the BBC and ITV. Expect to see that man at his entertaining best as the programme highlights some of his most memorable outspoken moments as well as touching on his love/hate relationship with the media.

Amongst the various match highlights, football fans will get the chance to see Clough's first competitive game in charge of Leeds United. The infamous 1974 Charity Shield against Liverpool will forever be remembered for Billy Bremner and Kevin Keegan being sent off for fighting before throwing their shirts to the ground after feeling harshly treated by the referee. Other games featured show Nottingham Forest's rise from second division obscurity to League Champions before setting the European game alight with back to back European Cup triumphs against Malmo in 1979 and Kevin Keegan's Hamburg in 1980.

I was watching something at the weekend on ITV/Central and an advert popped up advertising a program called Clough and it said coming soon.

The advert showed some interviews with Brian Clough, highlights of Forest games etc.

Did anyone else see this?

If so does anyone know when its on as it looked quite good.

I saw the advert and wet my pants. It looks great. The Sunday Telegraph had a fantastic article as well.

Most of my posts make sense. It's just they may or may not be on the right thread. You have to understand the cling film. It's inevitable.
