Guy Moussi.

This time last year many of us were claiming that he could possibly go toe to toe with Chuck Norris, this was half way proven as he nearly decapitated a Reading player in the first game of last season. Unfortunatly injury f**ked him.

So, does he have a part to play this season.

Not for me mate at all...I haven't seen anything that even hints he's any good? From what i've seen of him (the same as every other forest fan) he looks quite lazy and gave the ball away far to many times for my liking.
I would much prefer ozzy from on loan last year in that midfield destroyer role anyday...Thought he had a decent run in with us and was a big factor in us staying up.
You never know the moose could come good but until he stops being an injury nightmare and gets games under his belt i just can't see it!.

cheers

I see no reason why not, even though he has not played as much as he would of wanted the year he has spent in England can only of done him good...... Rite ?

The man (or...thing) seems to be injury prone.

Feel sorry for him especially now king Billy has bought 2 more top class midfielders

The man cant be forgotten though for one reason:

MOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

He's shown flashes of brilliance in his limited number of matches that he's played in. He had a great start to the season but then got injured, and I don't think he ever really regained full match fitness. We had a very small squad which resulted in him being rushed back.

As Patriot said, he'll be cover for McKenna I reckon. But McKenna's only got a couple more years in him I think, and Moussi is still young so he'll be fit and redy to step into his shoes by the time McKenna's moved on.

I know its pushin it abit, but we could get 4-5 seasons out of McKenna. This is the first fresh challenge he ever had. Never moaned, never really injured. Like Maldini, but in middle. Gets up in a mornin and gets on with it. Some players can do it. I think he can.

I've seen enough in the few times he's played to lead me to think he could still become a very decent player.

A full fit seasona dn training daily with the likes of McKenna will only help him.

At the Evening with Billy Davies, Billy was asked this. He said he thought the Moose was good at getting tackles in, but needed to work on his attacking play and scoring goals. He seemed to think he was a work in progress player and had a lot still to prove. Sounds about right really doesn't it?

I'll prefer to go with tried and tested at this level (Mckenna) than an unproven injury prone prospect, Even if we didn't have Mckenna im sorry to say but the moose wouldn't be in my 1st team...Id go with McGugan and Cohen through the middle.
Still when he's fit its a good problem to have isn't it...Strength in depth is something we haven't had in ages (Still way short at the back though as BD has stated.)

The guy is still a very good player. How fickle we all are. Mckenna plays well in a couple of pre-season games, just as the moose did last year and now he is the hero and the moose is no good again. Missing games through injury doesn't make you a bad player. I think Billy likes him alot. If fit we will see plenty of him this season.

I am sure he will play a part. I fully believe he is a good player but we now have so many good players in the centre of midfield and with Paul McKenna looking set to take the captains armband I wouldn't be surprised if he has great difficulty getting a spot in the matchday 16 let alone the 11 We have the likes of McKenna and Majewski both of which have impressed me massively since coming into the squad and then there are the likes of McGugan and Cohen challenging for a place too. Moussi I guess is cover for McKenna but I don't see him getting a bench spot to be honest we have 6 strikers and you would be 2 of them will be sat on the bench come saturday aswell as McGugan and Cohen and then you have Smith you're going to want a defender on the bench too. Where does Moussi fit in? He is going to have to grab any oppurtunity in the side and make the most of it if he wants to be a first team regular.

I dunno about that. We all saw him have some good games, some bad games, and get injured. Coming back from injury can be tough.

As in my other comment, I think Billy's got it right when he says he's unproven and has areas of his game to work on.

Can he actually do this improving in the reserves now? Have we got no other 2nd string he can go and play for? Maybe he needs shipping out on loan for a month or two if not, seeing as that's the only other thing we could do.

Moussi still have a part to play this season , maybe not at the start but somewhere down the line during the season.

From the start I've never been convinced mate think it was people getting carried away with the cult hero stature of the lad, I'm also not to sure about Mckenna as yet haven't seen enough..as i said in a previous post id go with McGugan and Cohen through the middle from what I've seen and know of the players.
As previously stated isn't it good to be arguing over the squad? instead of putting player in positions cos of necessity.

Roll on the 8th! ;D
