The European Cup Finals TV coverage

First Team Squad
Hello everyone,

This is my first thread on this website, I'm a long time reader.

http://www.itv.com/sport/football/c...ionandanalysistointersuefachampionsleaguewin/

I found this video on ITV's website, a short feature with John McGovern looking back at the 1980 European Cup Final win over Hamburg.

Looking at the vintage on screen graphics in the clip it got me thinking about the TV/radio coverage of both the 79 and 80 finals. What are your memories of the games watching from home in Nottingham (or elsewhere) and do you remember the broadcasts?

Are there any good quality home recordings of the original programmes in existance? It's a long shot but you never know! I've got extended highlights of both games recorded from ESPN Classic a few years back but thats it!

im old enough to remember what it was like..

it was BRILLIANT!

I was 9 years old when we won the european cup in 1980, Im a londoner and was the only forest fan in my school, I remember listening to our european cup campaigns on the radio and then the highlights would be on sportsnight or midweek sports special later on in the evening. I remember watching the final on a black and white tv, really excited when we won, and wearing my forest shirt to school the next morning. fantastic memories...i remember at the end of the game, the referee was punching the air as if he was a forest fan! weird, and brian moore making a mistake and saying that hamburg had won the cup! does anyone else remember that??

Tim (Forest Forever) on this thread:http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18376 managed to supply me with copies of the two European Cup Finals for a very good price. Drop him a line.

Ive got copies of both finals as my mate recorded (off the live TV at the time) them for us, he was the only one who had a video recorder among us at the time. If you want a copy you can have a loan of them.
