The demise of Leicester City

I was pretty much with you right up to the words ‘Crystal’ and ‘Palace’ right at the end. I was surprised to see them in that particular cohort of clubs so hurried on to Wiki to read all about all their trophy wins. But, sure enough, they won the Full Members’ Cup once, so I can see how they belong with all those other multiple trophy winners (and Southampton). Seriously, I’m not sure why you included them - recency bias, perhaps, as they’ve had a decent run in the Premier League of late…

Bit of a yo-yo club in the 90s when I was properly getting into football. Cool badge, Selhurst Park is a decent old-school ground, fanbase has a reputation... but you're right they don't really deserve to be in my list, that's my bias sneaking in because I quite like Palace as a club.

I quite like Palace as a club as well, they're not in the same bracket as eg Leeds, Villa, Wolves and ourselves though

Fair enough. I’m a big fan of having a soft spot for clubs that isn’t driven by success, glamour, etc.

It's so leicester to claim 7th biggest and use social media followers to prove it.
Plastic clappers. Fireworks, wagatha trial, singing section, yes really, all just sums up LCFC really.

I hope they stay up actually, boosts the East Midlands

The imaginary rivalry on their part does make me laugh though
It’s like when you’re having a quiet pint in the pub, and a drunken dwarf staggers over and tries to start a fight, giving it the proper Charlie Big-Potatoes, and you just know you could just kick him in the balls and he‘d go down like China‘s new submarine, but you’re too busy laughing.

If they’re honest with themselves, it’s not us they hate, it’s the fact we have a fierce, long established local rivalry with Derby.

Nobody gives a shit about them, the lack of attention really pisses them off.

Well that was tough, just read through the last few pages on this thread and I’m amazed that it seriously looks like some people actually give a shit about Leicester. They are an irrelevance, which is why I very rarely come on here

Well, we are delighted to have you today.

Do you like trampoline-based wrestling, though?

Ok I'll bite. Swansea have about twice as many followers as Forest on Twitter. Does that make them twice as big a club than us?

8th biggest club in the world are Swansea.

I'm just here for the memes at this point.

Witnessing history as this thread, or at least part of it, is going in forum gold.

Well, let‘s be fair, there‘s f*** all else to do in Wales other than watch sport, is there?

I've gone down a rabbit hole now. Al Nassr, who had just short of 9K turn up for their last home game.

The symmetry of those two clubs of course is that both are only where they are by virtue of a decrepit centre-forward, without whom, they would be shit.

They have taken out another loan guarenteed on their PL money.

So if they go down they will have no parachute payments again, only last time they had Maddison & Barnes sales to cover it. They'll need teams to mop up their top 6 talent again if they go down.

Perhaps they can borrow some more money guaranteed on their massive Twitter following. I'm sure those millions of followers will cough up for the club if required.

This was factually proven by statistics, so whats the fuss?

Laughing at numbers only makes you look like you're finding a way to cope.
So in your opinion does social media followers constitute you being a more supported club? All it tells me is that more people follow you on social media nothing more or less. I am not suprrised either loads of people would have strted to follow you after the miracolous achievement of winning the premier league. That win by you guys transcended football. You people like my mum and girlfriend who dont follow football speaking about it. That dosent translate into fans and a meaningful following. The notion that Leicester is bigger than Leeds never mind Forest is astonishing really. However I will concede to you that you do indeed have a lot more followers on social media.

To be fair that should the argument a mockery if you want to say "more social media followers = bigger club". It is a flawed logic @Foxes mate. I will concede you have a lot of followers but to take that as the main argument that you are bigger is ridicolous. Wrexham have 3.7 million followers now one day they will pass Leicester. I have lived in Wrexham nearly all my life, Leciester are a bigger club than Wrexham.
