The colour ran on my brand new forest shirt... anyone had the same problem?

I ordered a Forest shirt from Sports Direct, which arrived a few days ago. After wearing it for a few days (on top of another T-shirt) the red has leaked into the white bits and left vague pink stains in a few places. I haven't washed it or got the shirt wet at all... I'm wondering if I should return it, or if this will just happen again if I get a replacement and I should just live with it... or maybe the stains will come out if I wash it? Kind of doubt that though, red stains on white fabric hardly ever shift do they?

Has anyone else had this problem? What would you advise? Obviously I'm none too happy about this because replica shirts are chuffing expensive, and I'd expect better quality than this. Also pink isn't exactly the most masculine colour is it?

Send it back, you won't know whether it will happen with a different one until you get it. I haven't got one myself but i haven't noticed anyone else's white bits to have turned pink at all.

Got mine from the club shop at the start of the season so worn and washed it many times now and the whites are still white.

I even wash it on a hotter setting than it recommends so sounds like you've got a dodgy one that needs returning

As everyone else has said, you need to return it. My shirt's been fine but if I'd had that problem it would have been going straight back to the shop for a replacement.

Not had this problem at all.

I did however find both the Football League badges on the sleeves peeling off. Sorted them out with an iron but still, I shouldn't have too for a £65 shirt!

They were peeling off ready for the Barclays ones to go on. :-*

No wonder my post count..
Mine ran also, bought this from the club shop. However, this was in september so it's probably too late (plus I don't fancy driving down to Nottingham just for that)

Anyone in any doubt as to why you should do this should take a look at BBC's Mike Ashley Uncovered (which is sadly nothing like Ibiza Uncovered).

It's worth watching so see how many boxes he ticks as a bad owner and pretty terrible person, as well as laughing how the Toon treated him as the second coming before realising exactly what he was. It's an ailment that afflicts many teams who play in black and white.

That programme is full of holes but the fact still remains that fat ashley is a w**ker and he used factories in Laos to produce his substandard goods. I can't wait for his club to spiral in to the playoffs and lose.

Also having the same problem with the Victor Chandler logo, in all honesty this years shirt is cheap and a last minute job of the umbro production floor. But I'm never the less chuffed to where it and my faith in it back in August has been rewarded with our amazing season so far. Bring on the upgrade to nike for the Prem :nowink:

I too purchased a Forest shirt from Sports Direct. I wore it straight away after purchasing it in the shop and then washed it the next day in the washing machine set to 25C (sensitive) using Tesco brand gel-packs. Didn't have any problems.

You should return your shirt to Sports Direct as there's something wrong with it.

Take it back as a faulty item- the dyes were not set properly. And, if there's no warning on the shirt to state that the colours may run, you could argue for compensation for the damage that it has caused to your other clothes. Probably just easier to take it back and opt for a replacement though, which they almost certainly will give you with no fuss.

If they play silly buggers or you're unsure of your rights then call Consumer Direct (free government run consumer advice line).
