Now I know CC has made mistakes and the jury is still out in certain aspects but I don't feel we give him enough credit for the great work he has done. The signings so far come to mind.

However with Commons I think he has shown a masterstroke.
He could of offered contract after contract and pleaded with the lad, possibly upsetting one or 2 of the other 1st teamers and delaying any moves for transfers.

However he has said thanks, now go find a club. Simple as that. Now that arguably one of the biggest drama's of pre-season has been sorted, the club can concentrate on our upcoming season. The first team can start a fresh and there will be more of an opportunity for Davies to shine, a lad who has possibly more potential than Commons did.

I agree with much of that. Not too sure on the Davies bit, but the rest is spot on.

CC has shown everyone that he won't be held to ransom and that there will be no prima donnas in his squad.

Good on him.

Now if he could only master 4-4-2.................................. ( ;D)

This is the quote out of the story from the OS that seals it for me!!!

"But he told me shortly after we had secured promotion that he had already decided to leave."

That to me shows Calderwood and the club standing up to the players.... New attitude at the club and a welcome one too...

He's definitely handled the Commons situation excellently if reports are to be believed.

Commons wanted to indulge in bestiality, Calderwood let him know where the farm was.

Either that or he has just let one of our prize assets leave for nothing to go to our most fierce rivals.

refreshing to read something positive about our manager. I stopped visiting this forum for a long time when all people would write about is how bad our manager is.

Perhaps Martur handled the situation?
Ok, deep breath.

If Marthur handled this situation, then good on him too. Well done.

(I still wish he'd f**k off though)

Only one man left in the game who knows what it takes to get Forest promoted. Bring him home, Fawaz.

Christ almighty. This is almost thread necrophelia!

He'd maybe do a job as an assistant to Mr. Pearce anyway.

There were definitely errors of judgement in his game in his first spell at Forest, but now that's got six more years of experience under his belt I think it's time for him to come home. His first ever seasons in both League One and The Championship were with Forest, and there's no doubt a massive learning curve when it comes to managers moving up through the divisions. Nobody has ever doubted Colin's coaching ability, and given that in his time away from Forest he has both coached and managed in the Premier League, I think he'd be a valuable addition to the staff at Forest. He might just sort out some of the defensive frailties in the side, much like Chris Fairclough did when he arrived under Billy.
