The Brewery Tap - Peterboro...

...Oakham Ales are clients of mine and are expecting a busy day on Saturday, however, a cautionary note -

They are on 'code red' :D... meaning that anyone wearing colours will not be allowed in :(

Was going to add this to the Peterboro thread but didn't want anyone to miss it!!

My school reunion is held every year at the 'Tap'. If Bogarts is still open I'd recommend any travelling fans to start at Bogarts, go onto the Brewery Tap (ensuring to have some of the Thai food - it is cracking!) then onto Charters practically next door to the ground.

Real ale all the way!

Thanks for the advice.

Guess I'll be wearing a jumper over my shirt then.

Any idea what their policy will be on Saturday ref fancy dress? I'm cutting away from a stag weekend with a medieval theme in York to come to the game so will be dressed as St George so I can get straight off the train and into the pub when I get back to York

It's pretty ridiculous policy - refusing entry to anyone in Forest colours.

Everyone knows that the vast majority of trouble makers don't wear club shirts or scarves or whatever.

Advice is appreciated anyway. Thanks.

Surprisingly St George didn't come up in conversation! As long as your shield doesn't sport a tree I think you may just get away with it.

I did mention the fact that overwhelmingly, those who now wear colours are not the ones to be worried about!

end of the day I suspect they will check tickets on the door like amicci do so anyone with tickets to the away end wont get in anyway if there taking the some hard stance nottingham pubs seem to take.

might have to change my plans a tad might have drinks in grantham and then grab a train at 1:30-2pm to the game instead of drinking in boro.

I shall have my Rice in my bag ready to slip on during the walk to the ground.

Not at all... Away fans are welcome - just not those wearing colours.

so will we be asked to remove jackets ect to show we havent got colour on underneath or can we go wear colours aslong as they are covered

I dont think the Tap will go to the bother of checking everyone that comes in, as long as your not wearing your forest shirt you should be ok.

Most Peterborough city centre pubs are against footie shirts on sat days.

When England won the Rugby world cup some Peterborough pubs would not let me in during the day wearing an England rugby shirt.

This is getting unnecessarily complicated :D
Keep it simple...
1) Do as we do when going away... don't wear colours!! Or 2) Do as Lizardinho is going to do and take your shirt with you to put on later or 3) Drink somewhere else!

This is getting complicated, so a change of clothes is needed for this......

I can confirm all of the above. Having had a think about the alternatives (or lack thereof) The Tap will still be our meeting point, as it's worth sacrificing colours for (although I will have my shirt hidden somewhere on my person!)
