The ‘I have something to say about Forest that doesn’t warrant its own thread’ Thread

Yes. I think it’s a definitive list in order of merit

1. Palace. Couldn’t give a f*** about them but don’t pick a fight with someone you’ll never beat ay Palace?)

2. Spurs. Their delusions of grandeur are like watching Ai pick a fight with itself, week in week out. And for reasons because they were unable to buy one of our players… they dislike us. Utter kunts

3. Brentford. One of the clubs we love to beat. Zero relevance club with no redeeming features. Bizarre

I won’t list the obvious manure of Scouse. It’s a given

Just a nice photo that I took of our beloved WFCG on Monday morning. I finally visited the place, as well as my old neighbourhood of the Meadows. It was a rather emotional moment, and also the last thing I did in Nottingham before leaving, in hope that I'll be back soon, and will manage to actually catch a game.

On a sidenote, my 8yo, the other big Forest fan in the household, got a Ryan Yates shirt from the shop (the away kit, which is indeed amazing from up close), which he very proudly wore the next day in London. I was hoping we'd get a "You Reds!" shout, but instead the only reaction it got was from the operator of the carousel outside the Princess Diana Memorial Playground in Hyde Park, who shook his head saying that he's a Birmingham fan. We chatted for a bit and I implied theyh should get EM to buy them too, if they ever hope to see any good days again.

Lovely pic, thanks and understand the emotion. I am heading to UK Saturday, left Nottingham/UK 47 years ago but managed to go back a lot of times and usually pulled in a game or two. Have watched virtually all games here in CA for as long as they have been available on TV and got up at 4.00 am last Saturday.
Will be able to watch the Spurs game before I fly. Got the City Ground Tour booked in a couple of weeks and hope to go to the Coventry game.

It's great to be able to go back once in a while... I am Greek and live in Piraeus (or Marinakisville, as I call it), but Nottingham is in my heart and will forever be. Hadn't been there in 15 years, and going back last weekend just reminded me of how much I'd really, really love to retire there - if the UK government will let me, of course :ROFLMAO: . But for now, both my husband and I, as well as a couple of guys from the Greek Forest club, are aiming at returning to see a game, something we've never been able to witness.

Does having that done hurt?
On a scale of 1 (a slight tickle) to 10 (f*** me that is unbearable)?
I am tat free because I hate it for a grown man to cry!

Anyone railing against US English is howling into a void. One day, when American financial muscle had completely chewed up what remains of our economy, we’ll have nothing left to do but to beg them to let us join the union. Might as well be linguistically prepared.

On that cheerful note, happy Friday y’all.

I've got two sleeves in the back piece and the only bit that I struggled with was right in the center of my back on my spine. That the rest of it was fine.
But what about the Prince Albert?

That must have stung?

I think this summer’s transfers (both in and out) have allowed OG to have an instant basic squad for his 3421 system. I do not believe for a moment that we have every squad or even first team player that he wants right now.

This was a quick change that allowed OG to start his system off for now. I believe future transfer windows will allow him to cherry pick the players in positions he wants to allow his way to thrive. This was a good transfer window for him to reshape, but it was (imo) by no means the finished product.

Forward Area
Wood is out of contract end of season. There may be some doubt whether he will get a renewal or a year add-on. – We will need a replacement if so. Having Delap here provides a quality (we hope) player to bed in this season so not to stress about it.

This is the season for Kali to fish or cut bait as it were. See what OG thinks of him.

Ndoye fits a position but may not achieve the quality hoped. – If he goes will shall sign a high quality replacement that will challenge MGW/Jesus for first eleven.

To be decided if CHO can both succeed in this system and remain fit. If OG likes him, he stays.

Of the loans. I don’t see Bakwa returning which is a great shame for me personally. I was really excited for him, but I think it wasn’t to be. As for Hutch, If he is playing in a similar system abroad, this is a great opportunity for us to have a good look at him. Not sure if the club see Gustavo Sa in this position or further back but like the feel of him so far.

I do feel we need more high quality dynamic attackers that can make things happen (if necessary) on their own to bolster the squad. Possible season outgoings: Wood (not sure how I feel about that one), and Ndoye, Unsure yet for OG: Kali and CHO.

Central Midfield
One of our (atm) decent selection of central midfielders may be out with a young replacement coming in (the club have already showed interest in this area). Schlager will be the best free transfer of the season. Top draw!

Wingback
Wingback is a weird one for me. On the left we have Williams, Netz and Cuiabano all of which I think are fine. In fact if OG’s wingbacks don’t require that much defensive presence then Cuiabano might eventually take the spot, although many of you on here have stated the OG likes a more defensive WB on the left. I bow to your superior knowledge.

On the right we have Munoz, Aina and Moreira (and possibly Savona) also all of which I think are fine. We might find that at some point Moreira develops well and becomes the natural replacement for Munoz but never write off Aina. I also love the idea of Savona bombing further forward down that flank and making more shit happen!

It feels like such a specialist position for this system that the players mustn’t be wrong for it. Not sure if we will sign other specialists here or prevail with the quality we already have.

Centre Back
4 quality (true) CB’s plus stand-ins feels a bit nervy for a lot of us, so I wonder if Abbott will be acceptable post-loan for us to provide the depth we crave, or will OG’s smaller squad see him cut?

Keeping Goal
GK feels the most intriguing. Victor and Benda are not long for here and Sells requires either a very high quality replacement or more probable; some high quality competition.

We couldn’t do that with Ortega this year because we are not in Europe. But I believe that will soon change, so this position is the most in flux for me.

Conclusion
If we have another (summer) transfer window as pragmatic as the last with no rush to loan out players we don’t want and be able to sell them, and to identify new acquisitions perfect for our system, I think we will do very well.

If OG likes the overall look of our squad and just requires the odd replacement next time, I also think we will do very well.

TL;DR…..tough. Read it or not. I don’t care. :p

My dyslexia is getting worse, I thought that said „Hashish?“

Just spent a couple hours watching Union Berlin vs Schalke on the BBC Red Button.

Only realised when he was namechecked at the end that the co-commentator was former Forest Academy "next big thing" Felix Bastians.
He does pop up on occasion doing co-comms for Bundesliga matches, and I get a bit of a warm glow from that.

I’ve had quite the week spotting Forest current and former in the wild.

Steve Stone and Frank Clark at the gym and I took MGW parking space when he left Rok in Bridgford.
