Seems to related to the size of the screen/view, simple test. Landscape view on an iPad = Nottingham Forest, portrait view = Forest. Pesky webpages auto sizing.

I do also take this as recognition that we are back in the big time. In our greatest period we were often referred to as just Forest.
 
On the BBC Premier League page showing the League Table we are shown as Nottingham Forest, and alphabetically we are in 18th place with only Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspurs below us.
All that money spent and Tottenham are still bottom of the league :)

Had a birthday day out yesterday, courtesy of the girls. Had a wonderful day looking round a railway museum, culminating in a super lunch at a country pub. During a lively discussion with some of the locals, it transpired that one of them was an ex-Brentford player (I was very polite to him as he also played for Fulham) who had played a league cup game against Forest during Cloughie's time. The Brentford chap was extremely complimentary, telling me that the final touch from Cloughie was to send the Brentford team a case of something tasty and a note of thanks for the sportsmanship during the game.

Sad to say that I have forgotten the player's name (I blame it on age), but the local chatter was such that I was soon face-to-face with a West Ham fan and a Luton fan, who was the landlord and also an ex-Army squaddie. So I suppose I could blame it on football overload. A terrific day and a lovely birthday celebration.

It would have been Tony Mahoney who played for Fulham, Brentford and Palace.

I wasn't able to view the link Alf but I was discussing this last night and I think we missed an opportunity not having pre-season in the States this summer. The Scousers are over here right now, based in Chicago, and there's quite a bit of buzz about their games. Perhaps the club thought we're not quite ready to expand the "brand" yet, but even prior to the WC there's been a growing number of US fans selecting Forest as their PL club so I reckon we ought to be building on that and the post-WC hype.

Definitely mate, great shout.

The link is to an American guy who's basically explaining to Yanks all the ins and outs, pros and cons, and history of Forest in simplistic terms. He does a pretty good job to be honest. There's a few bits you could pick fault on, but it's relatively decent.

But it's evidence that there are a lot of Americans out there now looking for Premiership and British clubs to follow because of the love of the fans for the game. So it's definitely something we could have looked at and the scouse have obviously spotted that.

Absolutely. Obviously the club's professionalism has come on in leaps and bounds the past few seasons, but we're still a long way off in terms of strategic planning if our owner is going to achieve his goals. As an "organization," Forest are still far behind the Sky Six, but even Sunderland recognized the potential of touring the US this summer to raise their profile, which makes the marketing myopia from our club baffling.

Ta duck. This was a surprisingly really well researched reel, although I wish he'd mentioned our long history and pioneering role in the game.
