I'm Red Till Dead

Stuart Pearce
I actually came on here to say that it's jolly annoying when we have a really good game the night before and I don't have time to read through all the comments on here, let alone search elsewhere.

Not strictly Forest, but the Damned United is on tonight (I think Ch4, but I chucked the Radio Times out as it's a Friday) for those of you who want a laugh at Revie or who haven't seen it, though I'm sure there aren't many of us who haven't.
VP, you can now watch The Damned United on the Iplayer for the next 29 days. That's if you didn't watch it last night, of course.

Not about the club per se, but is it just me or have the Forza lot been very quiet this season? From memory, I think there’s only been three tifos this season (the opener against Brentford and two Europa games).

Is it just the case that there’s not been much to celebrate this season? Or maybe they’re short on funds? If it’s the latter, I’d certainly be more than happy to chuck a few quid in the pot for them as I have done in the past.

They went quite public with a piece slating (rightly so) Ange and EMs decisions.
I wouldn't be surprised if they've fallen out of favour with the club

Going in on Marinakis was a stupid thing to do. He's poured money into this club and got us promoted and into Europe. F*cking braindead thing to do that publicly when they need the club onside.

Anyone would have thought Chansiri the way that idiot went off on one.

They were always an independent fan movement, getting into bed with the owners would just make them another bunch of mustard chino'd chinless wonders.

Readers of a certain age will remember the days of Fanzines (indeed LTLF used to be a fanzine).

The original Forest fanzine iircorrectly was "Brian" which you may remember was edited and dealt with by a J Pritchard. I remember the regular trips to Sports pages on Charing Cross Road to get the latest one during my Uni days

Sad to note that Julie Pritchard died very recently.

Condolences to her family at this time.
I've still got a load of Brians tucked away in the parent's loft, and quite a few with my contributions in too.

Farewell Julie, and thank you for blazing the trail

Really sorry to see this. I have loads of Brians in the loft and I think I might have contributed to one issue before it stopped and I wrote more regularly for other fanzines. It was always a great read. If you remember Brian or want to know what the fuss was about, take a look at the full archive, which was made available online a year or two ago. I’ll try to remember to edit this with a link to it a bit later.

RIP, Julie, and thanks.

Thanks for shouting out the archive, had no idea:

More than once I threw a comment into print in the Brian. It was really the start of my interaction with other Forest fans. Prior to that I had been a lonely voice in East Anglia and further afield talking to myself or, if I simply had to talk football, people who followed Man U or Liverpool. No real fans.

And thanks for saving me the job of adding the link. Worth mentioning that County’s The Pie is similarly available online.

My missus showed me this earlier, very sad news, we remember Julie from our TTT excursions.
RIP Julie and love to all her family.

I'm still here Crewton
Sad news. 😔
I used to love getting the latest issue on my way into the Trent End. I got a couple of letters published which I was very proud of in those simpler times.
S Peel of Gedling rings a bell or was that from the Football Post?

S Peel of Gedling was in the Football Post, unless of course either he or someone pretending to be him also put things in the Brian, the latter of which feels entirely plausible. S Peel would routinely slag Forest and Cloughie off even at a time we were winning trophies and admirers, so it’s a wonder there seems to be no record anywhere of his own glittering managerial career.

Listening to the radio this morning and someone mentioned 'dossiers'.

I immediately lost interest in the boring chat that was going on and my mind rambled off to the"Dodgy Dossier" which Campbell and Blair used to convince us (not very successfully, but they didn't care as they still went in) to go to war in Iraq and later Afgahanistan.

This, of course, led me to the current day and Edu. And I rather hoped that even as I write this he's planning for more days in the sun and the Prem and the recruitment team are planning for a wholesale change both to the back-up players and also to the whole thinking going on at the club.

And then Edu resigns and leaves us for a great job in Saudi, never to be heard of again.

We've brought in Geoff Scott as new head of medical department, replacing Prithish Narayan who's been fired as board are unhappy with injury situation this year. Scott was most recently at Spurs (which is hilarious, given their record of injuries).

He left Spurs before all their injuries after falling out with the Aussie fraud in his first season there so he can't be all bad!

IIRC, Dr Narayan was lucky not to have been caught in the crossfire of the Taiwo situation, so, seems like a decent move for the club.

Christ, you'd want to turn up for training just for that alone 😋

A positive spin on our decision to bring back the 92/93 relegation kit...

Three years ago West Ham finished 7th qualifying for Europe for the first time since the nineties. They played the following season in a remake of their 91/92 relegation kit. Their players immediately became worse. They ultimately only stayed up by six points, had to sell their England midfielder for 100 million at the end of the season but they still finished the season winning a European trophy in an away kit.
