I thought that last season we signed him on an initial 1 year deal and then we triggered the extension in the summer for this season?

Would be great if true that we have another extension for next season, but I reckon Sky Sports might've gotten their wires crossed here.

Yeah it does seem a bit out of the blue that, first I've heard about an extension being triggered at the end of this season

we triggered Ola's extension last summer, ive also never heard of a two separate year triggers i think Dorsett has got it mixed up

Well that would be great news. Let’s be honest, we have no idea what is or isn’t correct just yet. Would seem almost unthinkable that we’d let him walk though. He’s pretty much best mates with EM after every game 😂

Me neither, which does make me think Rob Dorsett has got a bit mixed up there, but if it's true and Aina is staying then that's fantastic news
It’s like the polar opposite of the Arter deal for value.

As Aina gets better we just extend his deal to suit ourselves.

As Arter got worse some clause kicked in where we had to extend his contract and increase his pay 🤦

Whatever is or isn't in his current contract there's zero chance EM is letting Aina or anyone else leave this January

And what RD said there only reinforces that

We can't afford to have 7 players on 100k a week.
You can if you have Champions League money coming in...*

To be honest if this upwards trajectory continues, we're going to have to get used to the idea that more and more players on our books are going to be on circa 80k+ PW. If we're to establish ourselves in the top half of the Premier League or even in Europe we're going to have to pay the going rate.

* and you're charging £90+ a ticket for European games.

Maybe it was the two deal year deal with one year option after all:

OS says it was a one year deal:

However it does say it contains "options" for the future. options, not option. Which means it could have the weird double extension clause in there.

So ‘GiveMeSport’ claiming that Man City are planning to up the ante - suggesting that the contract has only 6 months to run.
At least one of the so called journo’s has got their facts wrong.

It was reported in a few places last year that we agreed 2 x one year option deals for Ola… so I’m not surprised that this is true. Too valuable not to!

If we beat Liverpool, I don't see any Forest player thinking that leaving would be a good idea.
If we beat Liverpool, I see every Forest player's agent thinking that they can get themselves a massive cut of an even more over-inflated contract they can get their client, for sitting on the bench at a 'bigger' club.

that's a big if , that single forest defeat has been slot's bugbear so far, he'll have his liverpool squad up for it for sure.
Definitely but arguably we are in a far better state than we were when we played them first time, the team is now very settled and everyone knows their roles so I don’t think it’s unreasonable for us to think we can go out and do it to them again

The obvious play would be to jump ship whilst Forest are at a high

However, European qualification would take us higher yet

I don't think its unreasonable but ideally it'd be better if they are still in this small dip they're having. To my mind its a free hit - they will be gunning for us big time so anything we can do to rattle them early doors would be great
