I thought that last season we signed him on an initial 1 year deal and then we triggered the extension in the summer for this season?

I've never heard of a deal that has two separate extensions before myself. A very unusual deal if true (which I hope it is!).

It’s like the polar opposite of the Arter deal for value.
As Aina gets better we just extend his deal to suit ourselves.
As Arter got worse some clause kicked in where we had to extend his contract and increase his pay

Whatever is or isn't in his current contract there's zero chance EM is letting Aina or anyone else leave this JanuaryWell that would be great news. Let’s be honest, we have no idea what is or isn’t correct just yet. Would seem almost unthinkable that we’d let him walk though. He’s pretty much best mates with EM after every game

To be honest if this upwards trajectory continues, we're going to have to get used to the idea that more and more players on our books are going to be on circa 80k+ PW. If we're to establish ourselves in the top half of the Premier League or even in Europe we're going to have to pay the going rate.

However it does say it contains "options" for the future. options, not option. Which means it could have the weird double extension clause in there.

If we beat Liverpool, I see every Forest player's agent thinking that they can get themselves a massive cut of an even more over-inflated contract they can get their client, for sitting on the bench at a 'bigger' club.
that's a big if , that single forest defeat has been slot's bugbear so far, he'll have his liverpool squad up for it for sure.

Definitely but arguably we are in a far better state than we were when we played them first time, the team is now very settled and everyone knows their roles so I don’t think it’s unreasonable for us to think we can go out and do it to them again

I don't think its unreasonable but ideally it'd be better if they are still in this small dip they're having. To my mind its a free hit - they will be gunning for us big time so anything we can do to rattle them early doors would be great
