Would it really be much of a surprise if we missed the deadline to trigger an extension or some such fuckery and he ended up leaving on a free?
Yes, I believe it would be a surprise.Would it really be much of a surprise if we missed the deadline to trigger an extension or some such fuckery and he ended up leaving on a free?
Agreed. Although he's perhaps not as consistent as the two you mentioned, definitely some lapses of concentration (if not desire) with Aina, which is why he's with us rather than a top six side I guess.I think of all the full backs we’ve had since promotion he’s been the most impressive at dealing with some of the top class wingers we’ve been faced with. I include Lodi, Aurier in that.
That's what I see too - he's a good player but has the odd switch off. In fairness I said the same about Mangala last year who ironed them out this season, so it may just be readjusting to the league after playing (more?) football overseas.Agreed. The trigger probably only applies if we stay up.Percy said in April that we were set to trigger the one year extension (seen as a formality). Maybe this is referring to that not going through, or that we're trying to go beyond that year
I said earlier on here or somewhere else that I briefly met him a couple of times while autograph hunting with my daughter and he is a genuinely lovely chilled out bloke. On one occasion most of the other players whizzed by and he pulled his car over and was just at ease chatting and signing and having pictures. He seems a very infectiously happy guy.Just heard his interview on RN. He comes across as chilled on radio as his playing style.
Says he’s happy and at home here, loves the city.
Didn’t give an answer about a contract extension but hopefully it’s a formality if we stay up.
I'm surprised no one else considered thati would expect any contract renewal would depend on which division we are in.
He's genuine quality. Both going forward and defensively. He's a top drawer wing back, i hope we manage to convince him to stay, I'd be shocked a top 10 side didn't try to snap him up, especially on a free transferNobody else gonna say how good he was today? I will. Outstanding. Best full back performance I've seen at Forest in decades. Until he went to right back, that knocked the stuffing out of him a little.
That was a good read and I’m hopeful we see him back here next seasonInterview with Ola in the Graun, not sure if this was posted before? (It’s from last week):
