Temitayo Olufisayo Olaoluwa Aina of NIGERIA!

Without letting Nigeria know this, I’m fairly confident that he’s been slowly building up his fitness with the first game in January in mind.

Was it me or did Aina looked more muscular and stocky, I was struggling to pick him out at times.
Yeah he's definitely more hench. He's clearly hammered the gym while he's been out.

It wouldn't surprise me if he has to drop some of that upper body mass though. There's a potential it might affect his speed or his distances.

One that will become obvious over a couple of months.

It’s interesting-whether that’s a Dyche thing, asking him to get fitter and bulk up or Aina feeling it’s a chance to get body tip top and bulk up etc. As you say Notcher it will effect performance-probably some pros and cons and seeing what body type gives him best opportunities to performance most effectively.

I'd expect the sport science people at the club to have an input on his rehab programme.

Definitely.

Husband commented that he looked slightly more meatball-y, which made me laugh during a(nother) pretty miserable watch TBF.

Joking aside though, really glad he's back and hoping he'll remain fit for the remainder of the season. Missed him loads.

They will but because the needs of footballers are so individualistic due to so many factors and that they all have different body shapes and sizes and what works for one player reduces effectiveness for another, errors are regularly made in this department.

They rely heavily on the player input too for a lot of feedback because the players know their bodies better than anyone.

First hand I've known players who were made to lose weight and change diet, they became weak, fatigued and less effective.

It's great to have him back. Hopefully the staff play it clever reintegrating him into the team and he suffers no further issues this season.

I like the extra gym work too. Apart from Milenkovic and Murillo, we're weak as piss at the moment and could do with another physically dominant player, especially when defending set pieces 👏🔴

Back in the Europa squad instead of Zinchenko for the remaining 2 league games.
I think it's safe to say that's an upgrade. He can also cover LB too if/when Neco's body just shuts down and breaks.

Hopefully that is the last we'll see of Zinchenko. Dyche’s comments post match last week suggest it will be.
