Team for Saturday!

Youth Team
Personally i think its time for changes in the midfield!!

Assuming that we dont make any signings i would play:

GK: Smith (No other choice)

RB: Moloney (He is a Right Back by trade)
CB: Morgan (Plays with pride)
CB: Breckin (Experience)
LB: Heath (Only fit Left Back on the books at the moment)

RM: Anderson (Best winger we have easy choice for me)
CM: Cohen (This is his best position and he showed much more against D*rby when he moved there than Perch and Lewis did)
CM: Moussi (Adds a bit of bite to the midfield - Yes I know he lacks fitness)
LM: McCleary (Has pace and a trick or two and he has set up goals recently)

RS: Earnshaw (The best striker at the club)
LS: Tyson (Bags of pace and energy - one of our best players in recent weeks)

And Billy use your head and dont play the long ball to strikers that arent going to be able to win the ball. We are a team that has always been suited to getting the ball on the deck and passing teams to death.

Yea i actually quite like it aswell.

But then again I quite liked the team against Derby Pre kick off.

I do think it's worth playing McGugan until he finds form, in the same way we kept playing Earnie earlier in the season when he wasn't scoring.

And the sad truth is, against a team of Reading's calibre on Saturday, McGugan's free kicks might be our best chance of scoring a goal.

The only tricky with Heath is that he's dreadfully inexperienced. However, he is also our only actual left back who isn't injured.

Basically, we're fooked.

Maybe Billy Davies should be looking to buy a left back, rather than moaning to the papers.

At this stage, and whilst Heath isn't a bad player, pretty much any left back from any of the 40 or so teams above us would be a step in the right direction.

i personally cant stand heath..
his inability to head the ball and be strong on the ball, and doesnt seem to have a clue in my opinion what hes meant to do on it..
plus his first touch is hideous! my cousin whos a year old has a better first touch then him! ive lost count of how many balls have gone rolling under his feet and out for a throw in!, his crossing is abominibal too, and i know thats not key to being a good left back, but to play good attacking football, it helps hell of alot!

On paper (or screen should I say) that team actually looks quite good.

but it can't be or we wouldnt be in the sh!t we are in!!!

Really really looking forward to the Moose being back in the team though.

Personally, I totally disagree. I think Heath has got a great future ahead of him and is showing a lot of potential. He showed strength at least twice against Derby to hold of strikers and let the ball run out for a goal kick. He always takes his time and looks to pick out an easy pass. And I have seen none of the "worse than a one-year-old" first touch you mention! Definitely a better option than Lynch at left-back.

The squad is very similar to the one that played up at Man City lets hope we can play the way they did then.

Hope Billy Davies saw Sky sports 1 with Burns Lloyd and Shilton, he could learn a lot from their Cloughie tales

Yeah I saw that 'yime of our lives' program. It was nice to hear the good old days under old big head!

I'll agree with the team you said but think the one we played against Derby is better - but we all know how that one ended. What makes me annoyed at the moment is that when BD first came, he said he wasn't accustomed to the long ball; he only played that as Derby and Ptreston didn't have the kind of players at his disposal to play passing football.

We have the right players to play football along the floor, yet he insists on us hoofing it up to earnie or down the channels. Not even Tyson's pace or Earnie's wop head can get anywhere near it! Sort it out!

I totally agree with you.

There was a kid sat in front of me at the game - I say a kid, in reality he was about 18! - who kept having a go at Heath for playing the ball down the line or clearing it for a throw.

I don't really know what he wanted him to do with it, but I reckon he was just a bit of a dick.

Heath was the most composed of our defenders, didn't give away free-kicks on the edge of the box like Morgan and linked up with Cohen and Tyson well.

He has a very bright future ahead of him.

I would go for

RM: Anderson
CM: Mcgugan
CM: Moussi
LM: Cohen

With McCleary on the bench ready to play the last 30 mins.

I think those four would be more than capable of playing passing football. Although I do agree that McGugan's performances of late have been very lacklustre.

To be honest Rhods we might as well put on another 7 players to help them out?

My Team has to be,

GK. Paul Smith

RB. James Perch (Brendan Maloney)
CB. Wes Morgan
CB. Ian Brechin (c)
LB. Chris Cohen

LM. Gareth McCleary
CM. Guy Moussi
CM. Lewis McGugan
RM. Paul Anderson (If Fit, if not put lewis RM, and James Perch CM)

ST. Robert Earnshaw
ST. Nathan Tyson

That would be a natural 4-4-2
Although i do think we need a change and possibley 4-3-3, i think we should play to get more attacking football.

Rofl, no idea if you can use that word like that, but I love it. Just trying to imagine this thing in a Forest shirt bombing down the wing at Forest to put a cross in ...

4-5-1 is certainly an option worth considering.

It was obvious to anyone with eyes that work that we lacked bite and passing in midfield.

With five players there on Saturday, it should help us no end.

I don't know if Earnie is fit enough to play up top on his own or not, though, so it might have to be 4-5-1 in defence and 4-3-3 in attack.

Something like this:

Smith
Moloney Morgan Breckin Heath
Anderson McGugan Moussi Cohen Tyson
Earnie

to this:

Smith
Moloney Morgan Breckin Heath
Moussi
McGugan Cohen

Anderson Tyson
Earnie
