That's exactly what went through my mindAwoniyi was great yesterday but I was relieved when he handed the ball to Jesus for the penalty.
Big T's penalty in that League Cup shootout against Newcastle must be reaching the orbit of Jupiter about now.
It's following Chris Waddle's in Turin in 1990, and one of mine somewhere in High Wycombe in 2006 (ish). Scientists are concerned that all three may return as meteors.Awoniyi was great yesterday but I was relieved when he handed the ball to Jesus for the penalty.

He dropped off his marker really well and still managed to head the ball accurately and with power.Just watched the extended highlights and have only now noticed that he was actually moving away from goal for his first - that is one helluva header.
I don't think he scores that header a season or so ago. I would Imagine he's watched Woody or had some pointers from him as he's an expert at it.Just watched the extended highlights and have only now noticed that he was actually moving away from goal for his first - that is one helluva header.
Dom's look so much like they're completely unintentional and random, but I suspect they're not. Defenders and goalies just can't keep them out of the net.Surprisingly Dom is a good architect of it too.
I’m sure Cloughie once said the first thing someone should do after scoring a goal is go and thank the person who made it for them. Whether he always did that himself I have no idea, of course, but I agree it’s great when players do this and I also noticed Taiwo do it.After his first goal the first thing he does is run over pointing at Bakwa giving the credit. Then he points at MGW after the second too. A generous fella!
It’s one reason why „Assist“ statistics became a thing, to recognise those whose brilliance creates a goal (so sometimes, a striker just has to bundle it in with any old body-part).I’m sure Cloughie once said the first thing someone should do after scoring a goal is go and thank the person who made it for them. Is there ever recorded who got the assist of the assist? I think that would be a really interesting stat to look at and discuss. A player with high numbers here should be called a dominator or something. I wonder in our team who that player would be.It’s one reason why „Assist“ statistics became a thing, to recognise those whose brilliance creates a goal (so sometimes, a striker just has to bundle it in with any old body-part).
Taiwo has always done that though. But then, he does seem a genuinely decent and humble bloke (and I remember similar from him, when I watched him at 1. FC Union Berlin, especially the season before he came to Forest when he scored at a rate of virtually one-in-two matches).
I do know that sometimes "secondary assists" - which is what I think that means - are recorded? Is there ever recorded who got the assist of the assist?
