If we're saying we need to sell and our only options are...

MGW
Murillo
CHO
Taiwo (new entry)

...who you sacrificing on the PSR altar?
On that list? Murillo or Hudson Odoi, although reluctantly in both cases.

We have seen what a fit Awonyi does and we know he wasn't fit last season because we were trying to manage an injury because we'd rushed him back.

Get him fully fit and we have a top 6 striker who will not only keep us up but push us forwards.

The fact that he's yet to complete a 90-minute match in two years at the club is pretty damning to those optimistic about his fitness.

I like Taiwo a lot, but it'll be hard to justify turning down a fee over £20-25m for him, when looked at without emotion.

No wonder West Ham are interested, he's scored in 3 out of the 4 matches played against them.

It's a tough one again, we all want to see if the operation has got rid of the issue for good. The club would know better of course. Also depends on who else might be available/tempted to come to us as an upgrade, equal ability.

Everything's a gamble I guess. Still not convinced he's a natural finisher but if he can get back to the pace/power he showed against Man Utd at the start of the season then happy days.

If it was the case of selling one gets the job done then cashing in on CHO's purple patch seems a wise move. He's a fantastic player but there are more decent wingers around than 20 goal (potential) strikers, enigmatic number 10's and ball playing futsal practicing center halves.

A lot of it depends on how much we need and what offers we get.

We can only speculate on that. It's frustrating that we've managed to find ourselves in that position.

I'm really torn, I can see both arguments. Of the 4 the only one I would hang onto at all costs is MGW, but I'd be sad to lose any of them.

I think Taiwo would definitely go for a decent price 6 in 20 and 11 in 33 is still decent at this level. so we bought him for 17.5m on a 5 year deal, 2 years into that and we will have paid 2 instalments of 3.5m each so far that leaves his book value at 10.5m, 25m would gives us around 14m profit depending on any sell on clauses.

Taiwo in a heartbeat. Not even remotely close. In fact I’d be over the moon if we could offload him and keep those 3.
Definitely, we've gone from relying on him to function properly to being able to easily cope without him, to the point where if he was suddenly fit I'm not sure he starts.

If someone was to come in and solve our PSR worries by taking him before June 30th that would be great. Especially if it meant we could keep the others and then we spend the cash on a replacement from July 1st.

With the position we are in in the food chain, this is our MO. If we can get a few years good service and move players on turning a decent profit this is the Brighton model in action.

If it means keeping MGW and Murillo then Taiwo has to be the one we sell. He is too much of a sick note. Would be sad to see him go mind, seems a good bloke.

Let him go unfortunately. As much as I love Taiwo and he can be a goal machine he's no good to us if he breaks down every 2 months.

It also makes sense from a PSR perspective too. We could potentially get the right side of allowed losses with his sale and we'll be able to amortise the cost of his replacement.

It makes a lot of sense all around to get this deal done.

It could be that Taiwo Awoniyi and Moussa Niakhate are the players to be sacrificed. Moussa Niakhate is wanted by Crystal Palace, Glasner likes him.

That would make a lot of sense. If it meant getting us through PSR whilst keeping hold of MGW & Murillo and giving us the opportunity to replace Taiwo with someone more reliable then we should do it without question.

Get the deals done early, especially as neither are involved in the Euros then we can get to work on bringing a striker in

There is no way we can get a decent price for him, his injury record is really bad. IF he can have just 1 season playing most games then we would would be able ot sell if we wanted to for a decent price. I would like him to stay, he is a top stiker, just stay fit please

25m plus and I would sell.

When he's fit and on form, he's a top 5 out and out striker in the PL.

But he's never fit and in form.

I don't want to go into next season with him and Wood as our first and second choice strikers due to their lack of availability. But we can't really afford to pay another out and out striker when we have those.two on the books and we only play with one up top.

Sell him now to help balance PSR for this year. Then go out on 1 July with 30 odd million to grab a new first choice striker who is available more often.

I'd like to try to give him benefit of the doubt for his lack of game time. I believe Awoniyi first began struggling with groin issues last season and the club were trying to manage his fitness and appearances because of how important he was, not only as a presence but because of his goal threat.

The groin issues were persistent but Awoniyi tried to plough through it however he had no choice but to have groin surgery in November 2023.

Personally, I think he was rushed back too soon after surgery and that FA Cup game against Bristol City was far too taxing on his body.

Then again, could it be that his natural style is so explosive and physical that he's always going to be susceptible to injury? I just don't know.
