Anyone going to this, tickets (according to STFC website) are £10 and £5 concessions.

I know a few Robins supporters and they have kindly directed me to a away friendly pub, The Merlin.

I'll get more info on parking etc. once I see one of them again.
 
Half-tempted since it's a ground I've never been to, but it's also a long fecking way.

Unless you happen to reach 91, and need it to complete the 92, I wouldn't bother.

Far and away my least favorite ground. Toilets that make Glastonbury's longdrops seem tempting after a weekend!
 
I also hear the town is god a forsaken shite hole, and that living there is a contradiction in terms. I might go anyway though.
 
It's not pleasant, but you're not a great distance from Stone Henge and Salisbury, so it could be worse...
 
I'm a frequent visitor to the nice bits of Wiltshire around there... I probably won't bother.
 
Some advice from a Swindon forum.

If you get down earlyish, 1:30-2:00, the fire station is open for match day parking, literally just opposite the ground, google it for postcode, opposite the road is a great chippy!, Merlin is away fan friendly and is just up the road from the fire station, away from the CG. Avoid the County Ground Hotel which is behind the Town End, (In the Car Park) - You won't miss it when you arrive. Parking in the ground is also fine, but in the season they charge £10, not sure about pre-season. The Cricket pitch is also ok if you dont mind a wait comming out.

Merlin sounds like the pub of choice, parking seems to be equal distance from the pub/ground.

I'll sort the postcodes out this week for those venturing down.
 
Oh also, DO NOT park in the Burger King carpark across from the ground.

Illegal clampers target away fans (and ONLY away fans) there, as we found out the hard way :(

Clampers were mentioned there are other places too.

If you see the derelict shop called Charlie Brown's (just down the road from the County Ground) avoid parking there. There have been incidents of peoples cars being loaded onto a truck by **** car park clampers. Same applies for the 'transfer bridges' (railway) right near by. I know these names mean nothing to you but you'll work it out if you see it. There are signs but they are pretty small.

Would have loved to have gone, really would, got family and friends down there, went to college in Swindon, STFC are sort of like my second team, but unfortunately I'll be on a stag do in Bournemouth at the time. For any of you going on the train, walk out the station and there's a boozer straight opposite, decent pub, good real ale, decent food and not a million miles away from The County Ground, can't remember the name of the pub, Queens Head or something, but speaking to the landlord a month ago he said us Trickies will be more than welcome

Swindon Town have an open day saturday if anyone is interested in that, hard choice.

Im going, Family in Swindon so a no brainer.

County Ground is awful tbh, as is Swindon as a whole, and that fvcking magic fvcking roundabout, eurgh.

Alternatively, if you cant be bothered driving down to that shite hole you could go watch the Forest acadamy play the other 'Robins' Ilkeston Town at the New Manor Ground on Sat31 at 3pm. £5 Adults, £1 concessions.
 
I think I'll go to the shit hole for a few hours then come back to the shit hole I live in (Oxford) and have some more drinks.
 
Seems like only a handful going then, Swindon lot seem the same complaining that the club is closing one of the stands.
 
Wish I was. Only 15 mins down the road from me. Swindon's a good shopping town, though not very car friendly.

Coming up to Notts to officially 'move into' my new house, otherwise I'd be there. Seems a tad expensive for the opposition and occasion though ???
